New features and changes since the second teaser trailer:
- Resolution is now improved to graphic SD/HD dual resolution which adds 720p resolution for more advanced graphics. This is similar to Dance Dance Revolution X.
- Network play is now added for the first time, cashiering manual USB data transfer and export, where players use USB connection to save achievements, scores and statuses online, including rank mode which competes other players worldwide. This is similar to Konami's eAmusement pass and internet ranking system.
- Item shop is added where the players purchase songs via online using in-game points.
- Cover flow from Pump It Up NXA has been returned, but is remade. Background titles are resized to 16:9 depend on game's aspect ratio.
- "New Tunes" category content has been changed. After navigating through new tunes group to the right, all available songs from Fiesta 2 are displayed on its own arrangement, and after navigating further, song arrangement from older mixes remain intact (PIU Original, K-Pop and World Music). This is similar to Pop'n Music 17: THE MOVIE's song category changes.
- It introduces new announcer, replacing the one that was used in Fiesta up to Fiesta 2.
- Most of classic sound effects have been replaced with brand new ones.
- Most songs from 1st Dance Floor to Fiesta EX have been removed (see below).
- The said removals met negative criticism among players worldwide, and most of them hope to persist Pump It Up Fiesta 2 (even Fiesta EX)
- Due to large number of removed songs, song category icons have been changed: 1st Dance Floor~Perfect Collection, Extra~PREX 3, and NX~NXA.
- Skill-Up Zone is removed, including all of its songs.
- Battle Mode is removed, not allowing free plays for both players or wasting of credits when the new player is defeated.
- Mission Zone is yet to be opened.
- According to the fans, one of the players have discovered a bug, which the game reboots after finishing "demo play" and before opening achievements list in offline mode. Pump It Up Prime is subject to be updated.
The theme announcement has been leaked, concerning that the theme of latest Pump It Up is called "Prime".[1] The third announcement confirms the source.[2]
It was originally planned to be released in November 2014, but is delayed and moved to December 2014.
