"Streisand" Pronunciation

Relationship with Michael Cimino

I think the inclusion of Michael Cimino as Streisand's partner is significant. However brief it may be, the biography of Cimino does mention that he briefly dated Streisand in 1983, which led to him considering her for a role The Fountainhead. It's a very small part, and can easily be overlooked if you read it yourself. Very briefly mentioned. Still, it was a relationship for the both of them. I ask that any reversions on the matter be given second thought. Just because no one "talks" about it I don't think means it shouldn't be included as fact. And the source comes from Cimino's closest ally, Joann Carelli, who said he had went with her in '83. Elton interviewed her for the book. Why would she lie? Cimino was private, and it was a brief little fling between the two. Makes sense to me. And doesn't sound like slander. Worth mentioning, I think. At least in some form. Early Television Specials

I did not find any reference to Barbra's career-changing series of five TV specials in the early to mid-1960s. I suggest that an editor more knowledgeable on this topic than me add a new sub-section. PlaysInPeoria (talk) 15:32, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Army cot

With reference to 'anywhere else she could set up the army cot she carried around' What is an army cot? This is not clear, and the name isn't Wikilinked. Would someone either editing access modify the text to clarify. Thanks. 2003:D3:FF3D:3397:6059:CE99:30D9:4E66 (talk) 18:35, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Correct the spelling of her first name above her picture to Barbra. Tawanda88 (talk) 01:40, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Looks like it already is Barbra name = Barbra Streisand Cannolis (talk) 01:44, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Josh Brolin not son-in-law

Josh Brolin is her stepson, not her son-in-law. 71.78.108.226 (talk) 04:06, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

First name

Was her name “Barbara” at birth? Is “Barbra” just a nickname, as the first sentence of this article seems to imply? Is it, rather, a stage name, or did she legally change her name?TheScotch (talk) 06:40, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Its explained in the article --FMSky (talk) 23:33, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please correctly spell her name

Her name is written incorrectly as "Barbara joan" at the beginning and the next time her name is written, it's correctly changed to Barbra. There are only 2 a's in her name. The page won't let me edit so for the love of god, someone please do that. 2601:642:4C03:9AB7:C591:3EBA:D672:B10D (talk) 10:10, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lede sentence

In undoing a revert of an edit of mine by @FMSky:, I suggest that in terms of the lede's first sentence summarising Streisand's career roles, "film & TV producer" should be included because her forays there (28 productions including major films she produced amongst others such as 'Yentl', 'Nuts, 'A Star is Born' 'The Mirror Has Two Faces' & 'The Prince of Tides' plus many TV specials produced) make this aspect of her career notable and not at all "incidental and non-noteworthy" as would warrant their non-inclusion as per MOS:ROLEBIO as cited in the revert. Including "the" photo

I added the photo which Streisand originally requested be removed to the section on the Streisand effect, but was reverted by User:Walton22. While I am sensitive to BLP concerns, I don't see how excluding this image from this article is mandated by the BLP policy. If it were, we would not have the image prominently placed in the lead of Streisand effect, and it probably would not be on Commons, either. (If there are no BLP issues, I think it is fairly clear that the image should be included as extremely relevant to the subject under discussion—namely, that very image.) Barbra Streisand explained in her memoir her security concerns and experience with intruders. The image is tagged with her name and links to a site that provides longitude & latitude co-ordinates. See Streisand_effect#Rebuttal_by_Barbra_Streisand & its Talk page. I feel we should not perpetuate the doxing of a public figure on WP, and she claims in her memoir her action was to thwart "doxing", not suppress the photo.Walton22 (talk) 04:57, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
