[edit]Ok,
Here is the thing.
Crazykid76, you are misleading people to believe that you have some influential say into what goes on in the school. I do not know what is wrong with you, but you really need to stop editing articles. People are beginning to believe that I am editing this article to promote my popularity. This really doesn't bode well with me. I don't know where you were getting your information, but you know WAY too much about me and the rest of the SAC. I do not know what your intentions are either, you seem to have an obsession and it worries me.
As well as impersonating members of the school, you've begun to write threatening messages online. Wikipedia is a GREAT tool, and you should not abuse it. I urge the wikipedia people to block your account, as it seems that all you do is abuse it.
Crazykid76, how about you work on a biography on yourself. You seem pretty proficient in wikipedia's language. Put it to good use.
Again, please don't edit this page again Crazykid76.
S charette, I am not familiar with the wikipedia language, but if there is a way to allow Crazykid to see this, please make it so. I put the message here because I assume this is all he does. I applaud you for putting up with such a vandal, and if there is any info about David and Mary Thomson C.I. you would like to know contact me. Good Luck!

- Post a message on User_talk:Crazykid76. Also, WP:NOT a place for people to create biographis of themselves, so the above advice is horrible. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 (T | C | @) 22:36, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Article needs updating
[edit]I've updated the article to contain the more standard infobox template, but the article itself needs to be fleshed out. Note that the school board web site and the school web page also contains conflicting information, such as:

Student council
[edit]Note that I've removed the big block of text naming the student council members for the past 5 years. The student council information:
- is not notable (see WP:NN)
- is not verifiable (see WP:VERIFY)
- is not encyclopedic (see WP:NOT)
- does not meet the search engine test (see WP:SET)
Please discuss on this talk page before putting it back into the article. --Stephane Charette 19:38, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
This page is important. What else is there to add to it? I can give the school a history as well, I'm working on that.

- How are all of these student names encyclopedic? How are these people notable? If notable, how is it verifyable? --Stephane Charette 02:01, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
What defines encylopedic. Isn't an encylopedia a book of knowledge? Why should one deprive the general public with knowledge. These people are notable because they are the people who lead the future in the area! They are verifiable from the yearbook published every year in the area!
—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Crazykid76 (talk • contribs) .
- I understand these students may be known in the school, but as far as Wikipedia is concerned, the notability we're looking for is described at Wikipedia:Notability (also known as WP:NN). Following those guidelines, none of these student are notable enough to warrant filling up an entire article with lists of students who have served on student council at your high school. --Stephane Charette 02:23, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- One of the problems I have with the prominence of the student council listings is that there's not much else in the article. I feel we risk having the article deleted unless we add a lot more other information such as the school's history or its programs. I don't think any of us want that to happen. I implore the contributors who are adding the student council information to also add other information that will let a wider audience (parents, politicians, the general public) know more about the school. -- Usgnus 02:37, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
I've removed the lengthy chunk of text dealing with student councils past and present (which was, at the time I removed it, just vandalized). Although I understand the desire to talk about this, please remember that we are working on an encyclopedia here, and as such each of our articles focuses on the most noteworthy elements of its subject, presenting the reader with a useful, readable summary of the entire topic. The lengthy discussion of the Student council was far too much; if someone wants to add something back in, it should be much smaller. --RobthTalk 05:26, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Departments
[edit]I've converted the department list into a simple wikitable. The schools web site ([3]) has several additional departments, but I cannot find official references anywhere stating who is the department head. If someone can find that information, then the appropriate rows in the table can be uncommented. Thanks. --Stephane Charette 06:16, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- The school's website, is an antique. You should only trust the tdsb page on it ([4]). its a little better
--Dylan Bradbury 01:07, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Population Growth
[edit]The population of the school has grown substantially since I attended in the mid 90s...I'm guessing it's because of Midland C.I. closing down a few years back?
Reunion
[edit]Just received a message from the president of TCI's alumni association: the next reunion will be in 2008. I'll edit the front page to mention that. Tenspeeder 01:39, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Student Council Presidents
[edit]Stan Farrow, the former Teacher of Thomson, and I have researched and developed a near complete list of Thomson's Student Council Presidents. In my opinion, it will make the article more complete. When the list is complete, will it be OK to post? I just wanted to see the opinions of the people.Scarborough Res (talk) 04:12, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Stan Farrow was a member of the staff of the school from its inception until his retirement, and widely admired then and to this day (as shown by the spontaneous standing ovation he received at the 50th Anniversary Ceremonies on May 2, 2009), but was never Principal of David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute. Did you really have any communication with him?
I also wonder why the list does not mention Kevin Dix, the elected Vice-President who succeeded to the Presidency during the 1976-1977 term when Paul Craig was expelled by the SAC for failure to attend meetings.--Imperial516 (talk) 03:32, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I was in contact with Mr. Farrow, it was just a mental lapse of me putting "Principal" instead of "Teacher". (It has since been corrected.
- As for Mr. Kevin Dix, there is no mention of him in the school's archives, and therefore will not be included in the list of past SAC Presidents. Sorry for any inconvenience. Scarborough Res (talk) 17:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Sheetal Raj, 51st President
[edit]Why was she removed as the 51st President for the current year? I have fixed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scarborough Res (talk • contribs) 21:02, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
