Most of those are reliable sources though. I don't think they're promotional. Billboard, YourEDM, Idolator, Broadwayworld are all reliable sources. I think you meant only this line to be promotional - "Matthew Koma is one of the music industry’s most sought-after songwriters and producers". I agree that line should be removed but why remove the rest? - TheMagnificentist 07:50, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- How about "Matthew put his unique touch as a producer on tracks from Tiësto's album A Town Called Paradise, including the hit single...."?
- And even "Matthew Koma's newest singles include...." reads as if it's lifted from a press release, and in addition to promotional WP:RECENTISM it also violates WP:DATED ("newest"). Also we use last names only after the first full mention.
- Yes, Billboard and such are reliable sources. But that doesn't mean you can use them to cite "Matthew Koma is one of the music industry’s most sought-after songwriters and producers...."
- And unless there's something particularly noteworthy about a specific release, it's promotional to repeat in prose everything in the discography list. Are you starting to see how these additions have a promotional WP:TONE?
- I understand that writing in a neutral encyclopedic tone takes practice. But you wouldn't believe how many publicists, family members and even sometimes the subjects themselves think of Wikipedia as one more social-media promo outlet like a Facebook page or Twitter account.--Tenebrae (talk) 20:59, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Early Career
[edit]Is there a reason the mention of starting his career in "pop punk" doesn't mention that it was with Eve 6? [1] That seems a highly relevant and encyclopedic fact. I wanted to ask however, before just adding it, in case I was missing something. Lennix (talk) 16:29, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
