Penny or Prudy?
[edit]Shoshana Bean covered the role of Prudy Pingleton, not "Penny Pingleton." --Conor 22:54, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Whistle Register
[edit]In her remake of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way" the climax note is an A6 in the whistle register.
Is Shoshana Bean a spinto soprano she sounds like one can somebody please tell me what she is.
- I don't think any sites actually say what she is. I think shes just Soprano with a whistle register. Spinto maybe. Myke 08:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Is there any other song besides Ain't No Way and that christmas song that she uses the whistle register in. Just curious. In the song "We'll Find It In You" from the musical "Forward" she sings in whistle during the final key change. In her rendition of, "I Believe In Love" from Hair she also sings in whistle register.
Fansite
[edit]Why does this article look and feel more like an ad for her than an encyclopedia article? Williamb 03:07, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, I've added a pov check tag. Gamaliel 14:42, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- It strikes me the same way because of mentions of her "checking out 30 CDs" and "gaining enormous fanbase". If she's already on wikipedia, she clearly has a fanbase. RECblue8 18:30, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- It was paraphrased from Bean's official biography - and the "gaining an enormous fanbase" was attributed to her success in Wicked. I don't see why you need to delete links to the fan sites, either, considering there are links to fan sites on ever other performer's bio. --Conor 22:10, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Enormous is a relative term, and for her part I'm sure a deeply inaccurate term. I live in Portland and I've never heard of her. And what is an "official biography"? Williamb 23:52, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'm guessing you're not a huge theatre fan, then. Shoshana Bean is a huge Broadway star now, because of her success in Wicked. There are other actors with enormous fan bases. I've talked to fans of hers from the United Kingdom. --Conor 13:23, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
video proof
[edit]on youtube.com there is a video of shoshana singing "ain't no way" with brian mcnight where she kills it and belts the high A. Just type her name in on the search bar.
Proving what? Who is Brian McKnight? I just don't care for the fan cruft in an encyclopedic article, cut out the drooling all over her and just put in the facts. Williamb 01:59, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
The fan cruft IS being taken out as it is found. Williamb 20:07, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah thats the one video I know of where she sings it just as good live as in studio and doesnt miss a note. It does in fact prove her ability to hit A6 in studio as well as live. Myke 08:15, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Wicked Tour
[edit]On the Wicked page it says that she is joining the tour on Sep. 6th, but here it says that she is joining on the 20th, does anyone know which is right? --kralahome 22:03, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- She and Megan Hilty both join the tour in Portland, which begins on September 6th.[1] --Alex 01:42, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Shoshanaheadshot.png
[edit]Image:Shoshanaheadshot.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
