Turboprop?

[edit]

A Rotax 914 is a turbo-charged piston engine, not a turbine. So either "Rotax 914" or "Turboprop" is wrong. --93.104.168.60 (talk) 11:34, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting to Chengdu GJ-1

[edit]

GJ-1 is the formal designation for Chinese Liberation Army. The redirecting completely follows the Wiki Aircraft Naming Convention just like any other Chinese military aircraft.(For example Shenyang J-11 or Chengdu J-20) Infinty 0 (talk) 05:46, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Shenyang J-11 and Chengdu J-20 were never exported, contrary to the Wing Loong. Per WP:COMMONNAME, "Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)". And this is "Wing Loong", not "GJ-1". BilletsMauves€500 10:00, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
