This article needs a lot of work - ATTENTION from the Politics team leaders, please

[edit]

Washington’s political profile is climbing swiftly – no pun intended re his pending air travel role. Schumer just announced that he is going to push the FAA nomination through, so there will be a quick significant increase in readership. Given the FAA safety-computer failure and the 17,000 Southwest storm cancellations, this is an extremely important nomination for the Biden administration now. (The fight in the Senate will be brutal, I predict.) I’m only a copy editor, with very limited bandwidth for WP efforts. I just added a Description and corrected his career characterization in the Intro, but don’t have the capacity to do much more right now. A very good FIRST step for someone who knows how to do it, which I don’t, would be to correct the article title to use his proper first name and set up a redirect on “Phil.” There will be dozens of RS articles about him very quickly now. I see that about some of sources use "Phil Washington" (Axios, Politico, The Hill, Bloomberg) and other use "Phillip A. Washington" (NY Times, CNN, San Diego Tribune), but from what I see a little bit more use "Phil Washington". The Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee used "Phil Washington" in their press releases. reppoptalk 07:28, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
