Was does Goffy kill people?
[edit]What was the point? "I'll pretend to be retarded to kill people because they (fill in the blank)".

Scary Movie 5
[edit]The page was recently deleted as violating WP:NOT, but there is no reason some of the information could not be merged with this page. Turnstep 02:57, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Can anyone figure out what this means? :
[edit]- 'Because of its long use of explicit language, but mostly because of its strong sexual observance and humor, Scary Movie has only been shown on national television once. The two last movies of the Scary Movie trilogy would however be played on television. As Scary Movie 2 would have the same behavior like the first movie, it would be shown with editing only on Comedy Central and TBS. Scary Movie 3 would shorten the use of its foul language and sexual content as it would have a PG-13 rating, but still being edited, and it would be shown on TBS.'

Also it has been shown in NZ atleats twice on national TV
I don't know who made the above comment. My comment is that I'm watching now on NBC, so I guess it's been played at least twice on national US TV. Krispos42 01:44, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
They showed it twice in a row on CBS (they showed it on 4 times in a week and one at least 5 different channells) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Master of Articles (talk • contribs) 16:04, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Funnily enough this film was shown on the 12th of November, 2011 in New Zealand on TV3 but the words "Fuck" were muted out of certain scenes but not all. Savre (talk)
Plot section
[edit]I realize that the section is entitled, "Detailed Plot," but I think that it is way too detailed for Wikipedia. It runs through the entire movie, scene by scene, is very incoherent, and is exceedingly boring to read. Skiasaurus 03:48, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- However, the lengthy plot section is a good guide for parents of teenagers who might want to know what the film is like before renting it for the kids to view. Personally I don't think the length of the summary or it's level of detail is actionable copyright infringement. Richard B. Drumm 20:38, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a guide for parents to decide what films are and are not appropriate for their offspring. The plot summary here should give short descriptions of the characters and a brief synopsis of the plot and a short list of the main films being spoofed. It shouldn't be longer than 850 words. (Sugar Bear 21:20, 26 May 2007 (UTC))
- Lengthy and in-depth plot summary? Fine. Large, unbroken, rambling, play-by-play walkthrough? Not so much. Copyright or no copyright, it doesn't really work here.134.82.97.14 01:44, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Behind the Scenes Details
[edit]Someone should integrate the stuff here into the article. Seems very interesting. [1][dead link] Shrumster 05:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Scream 2 Parody
[edit]Please stop removing Scream 2 from the parodies section because Scary Movie does parody it. With Brenda and Ray in the cinema its almost absolutely identical to the opening scene to Scream 2! A couple go to the cinema, the guy Phil (Ray in this case) is stabbed through the head with a knife (a penis in this film) and the woman Maureen (Brenda in this case) is murdered while watching the film! So please stop removing it because it is a parody. AquafireGal 20:36, 11th March 2007 (UTC)
- Please make sure any claims are reliably sourced WP:RS. Ideally all claims should be based on reliable secondary sourced not matter how obvious the may seem from observing the film itself. -- 109.77.204.189 (talk) 18:22, 27 February 2022 (UTC)

Final destination?
[edit]In which scenes do "Scary Movie" parodies final destination?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rgqf (talk • contribs) 18:07, 18 March 2007 (UTC).
About Some of the Parodies
[edit]I have a question on some of the parodies in the article. Inwhich scenes do they spoof Friday the 13th, Final Destination and Rear Window? AquafireGal 11:45, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Incorrect character link
[edit]The character of "Doofy" was supposedly played by a guy named Dave Sheridan. However, according to the Wikipedia article for Sheridan, he is an underground cartoonist born in 1943 and died in 1982.
There are obviously two Dave Sheridans. Anybody know about the much younger one in the movie? Krispos42 01:41, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I just saw this, too. I looked up "Dave Sheridan" on imdb. The "younger one" was born in 1969. I agree that the current link is incorrect. Avid reader 03:53, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- A disambiguation page has been set up to differentiate between Dave Sheridan (actor) and Dave Sheridan (cartoonist). --GentlemanGhost (talk) 19:25, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Doofy and Gail
[edit]The section for Doofy says it is unclear whether or not he is retarded. The section for Gail, right below it, makes it very excplicity Doofy was faking being retarded. What's the deal, dudes?
Lots42 03:57, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
I think you should watch the entire movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.70.143.193 (talk) 12:58, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Scream 3 Parody
[edit]Nobody remove Scream 3 from the list of parodies because scary movie does parody it. The scene at the end where Shorty is on a video tape explaining the rules of a snatch n run incase he dies parodies the tape in scream 3 when Randy is explaining the rules of a trilogy incase he is dead.Kkbhe 02:51, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Halloween?
[edit]How is Halloween parodied? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.242.227 (talk) 18:57, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
List of parodies
[edit]Please discuss here regarding whether parody lists should be included in Scary Movie and its sequels. Ward3001 (talk) 22:02, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Since these films are so heavily based on referencing other films it is necessary to mention those other films to properly explain the writing and development of this film. Yes they should be included but they should be reliably sourced WP:RS and preferably if possible it should be written out and explained as WP:PROSE as editors have tried to do in this article. -- 109.77.204.189 (talk) 18:22, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
Gail's Name
[edit]This maybe pointless but I was wondering if "Gail Halestorm" is the name credited in the film. Wouldn't it be "Gale Halestorm" to reflect the parody? Savre (talk)
- The character is definitely credited as "Gail Halestorm". Maybe the writers were bad or spelling or maybe they did not feel the need to make an already obvious joke that tiny bit more tired and obvious, so long as the joke sounds about right. -- 109.77.204.189 (talk) 18:22, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
