Death year

[edit]

I reverted an edit that inserted the category for 1910 deaths, and inserted 20th-century deaths, because 1910 is the last known period of activity. When he actually died is still officially unknown. The dates given in the biography and infobox reflect this, per MOS:DOB.Neonblak talk - 05:50, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Death Date (revisited)

[edit]

I reverted a section that was added to dispute the official death date. Baseball-Reference uses October 2, 1933 as his death date, which was researched by SABR member Peter Morris in 2014. The new section used a book entitled "Players and Teams of the National Association, 1871-1875", written in 2012. On page 90, it quotes the same Peter Morris claiming McGeary was still alive in 1935. Clearly Morris' statement in 2012 was revised by 2014.
