varangians = vaegirs?

Mention is made of the Vaegirs of the Mount and Blade in-game world being modelled after Varangians. This does not seem to ring true, to be honest. The Nords are the faction most like vikings and similar, Vaegirs are far more like Eastern Europeans; Slav/Rus like. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.44.129.234 (talk) 09:57, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That said, there is no official stance on what culture each faction is based off. Most seem to be fictional mixtures of combined real world cultures. Claiming one faction in-game is derived entirely and solely from a single faction in the real world is bound to be inaccurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.44.129.234 (talk) 10:06, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And as stated in the first paragraph, Varangians ventured into eastern Europe, and as stated in the first sentence in the second paragraph one group of varangians became the Rus' people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.230.179.4 (talk) 23:06, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
