- The hook at present does not appear to meet WP:DYKINT as it is not a hooky hook or one that is likely to attract a broad audience. Pinging SounderBruce to help suggest possible alternative hooks. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:43, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- I think the only decent hook that can come from the article is that New England has played Alajuelense three times in their five CCC/CCL seasons, which is a bit unusual. Of course, this needs to be added to the article first with a good source. SounderBruce 04:42, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks Narutolovehinata5 and SounderBruce, I've added the suggested hook (ALT2), as well as three other alternates. One of the challenges in this article is finding hooks that I could reasonably bold-link the article in. I haven't seen any examples of DYK's in the other "international competition" articles I've looked at either. Brindille1 (talk) 03:18, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

- I think ALT4 has promise and in fact I think it's the only proposal that isn't too reliant on specialist knowledge to be interesting. I'd suggest striking out the others and just focusing on ALT4. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:17, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds good, I've crossed out each of the other hooks.Brindille1 (talk) 02:30, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

Overall: The article looks good. As for the hook, I'm not sure I see it being called a "home" game – the article itself only notes BeanieFan11 (talk) 23:03, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
They faced Liga Deportiva Alajuelense of Costa Rica. Due to logistical issues, both matches were hosted in Costa Rica
. The source itself says that "The Revolution surrendered their home game opportunity" unless I'm missing something. @Brindille1: Thoughts?
- @BeanieFan11: I see your point, and I've added a second source to ALT4 which clearly refers to this match as a home game. Brindille1 (talk) 17:09, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- ALT4 approved. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:34, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
