Also now I'm in regular service with the Israel Defense Forces, which means I may not be able to reply quickly.

Also, while I accept or even welcome criticism (as you can see, there's some on the page), I will delete any personal attacks. Please don't bother.

Insignia template

The template was used on approxiamtely 280 images. I removed the tag using WP:AWB, which leaves an automatic edit summary. In about 95% of cases, the image from which I moved the {{insignia}} template had two licensing templates, leaving one intact. In a few cases, the removal left no licensing template. It was simply not efficient for me to hunt down another appropriate template, especially because I choose not to involve myself with copyright and have little to do with it, and consequently I do not know what would make a suitable replacement template. All I knew was that the template that was currently being used, was not helpful and consensus on its TfD was to delete it. I am sorry if this reply is not as helpful as you would of hoped. Wikifcation of Yekutiel Adam

Hi, I added the tag because it isn't written in an encyclopedic format. It contains just sentence after sentence, with no paragraphs or any common purpose. Wikipedia isn't a CV or resume and I think pages such as the one in question need to be change in style. On a completely different note, you may be interested in doing some stub sorting; I recently created, per WP:WSS, an Israeli military personnel template that will eventually become a separate category. Seeing as this is your primary interest, you be interesting in adding this template to any articles you see fit. That is how I came across Yekutiel Adam. If another template works better, by all means do it. As for the template, it should only be placed on short articles, and its for all military personnel of Israel, not just generals. anyway, it is {{Israel-mil-bio-stub}}. When adding it to an article replace all the other templates with the same categories (like Middle Eastern military personnel, Israeli people or Israeli military stubs. If you have any questions about stubsorting, let me know. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what branch of the IDF are you in? Provide a single prove that I reverted something. I did genuine edit, and if you don't agree – It's your business. But you have no right to accuse me of reverting, when a simple diff shows that it wasn't. Bleach image issue

Another case of an individual trying to immediately insert the most current possible image of a character rather than a decent quality one... since Isshin Kurosaki's OMG SPOILER is now common knowledge to the anime-only series followers, we're having a low-scale edit war over what image to use. I like this version, which, while not showing his shinigami form, is a good likeness of his character in general. User:Mecha50 wants to use this image, which displays his shinigami outfit quite well but is much lower quality and, imo at least, makes him look like Kermit the frog. The LiveJournal community 'Soul Society' recently barnstormed the flower-identification puzzle again, and seem to've come up with a pretty solid list. I'd like to post this in the article, but feel uncertain about how to compose the paragraph most Wikifully. I'd like to have one or both of you (Ynhockey, tjstrf) beta the addition - I'll post it in my Talk for easy access.

Also, since you, Ynhockey, pointed out that the 'Ginyanote' reference was merely due to bad translation, how about putting exactly that as a point of trivia? It might enlighten a few more fen *grin*.

Expressways

Hi Ynhockey,

On List of highways in Israel, you've labelled all non freeways as expressways, but I don't think many of them meet the criteria (a divided highway for high-speed traffic with at least partial control of access). Let me know what you think, Tewfik^Talk 17:10, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're correct that there was discussion on the road topic, but I think it may have been on highway vs route vs road vs colour, or some such. In any event, my issue here is that many of the "red" highways are not divided at all, or only for very brief stretches, which does not really meet the expressway definition (90 I believe is only divided in Eilat, Beit She'an, Degania, and Hatzor, and is otherwise). I would say that they should still be designated as highways, but that their technical definition should match the realities on the ground. Tewfik^Talk 18:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Bleach

Konnichi-wa, Ynhockey-san! Kiryat

Yeah, I was just about to write to you about Kiryat Malakhi/Mal'akhi. Why the apostrophe? I'm a Be'er Shevan and drive past it quite regularly, but have never noticed an apostrophe (though of course the signs are rarely correct). I don't believe it has to be there - it is becoming less and less common to replace an alef or ein with one - but if you insist. I just think it makes titles look a bit untidy :)

I wasn't sure about it, but I think Kiryat Ata is better than Kiryat Atta, but I didn't want to change the spelling of both words at once. Let me know your opinion. Number 57 20:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a good point about Be'er Sheva. I would suggest that apostrophes are used in place of "double vowels", such as Ze'ev or Ma'ale. However, in the cases of Givatayim or Malakhi, the alef/ein sounds like a single English vowel ("a" in both cases) and I don't think they need an apostrophe (and I don't think I have ever seen them written with one other than on here). I also saw somewhere on Wikipedia a "Shmuel" with one in it (Shmu'el) which I think is totally unnecessary. Number 57 21:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I remember seeing the connection made in one of those colour specials. (The one where Hitsugaya gets a life-sized statue of himself as a gift.) While we're on the subject of categories

I started a discussion earlier today at the wikiproject page about possibly merging the anime and manga versions of the genre categories together, since they're redundant. Not soliciting your opinion one direction or the other, but you reminded me of it and I think it deserves wider input. Bet/Beit

Yes, I would go for Beit rather than Bet. I've just moved Ofaqim to Ofakim. Two other potentially controversial moves I would like to see are Beersheba (its biblical name) to Be'er Sheva and Petah Tikva to Petakh Tikva. Number 57 21:40, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can accept the Beersheva one, but the Petakh Tikva thing really annoys me. H is correct only at the start of a word (i.e. you wouldn't have Khaifa), but in the middle of a word or at the end, the Kh needs to be pronounced - it isn't Peta Tikva (how it would sound with an "ah" at the end) - it's PetaKH Tikva. Also, I don't set any stall in how many hits something gets on Google - all it shows is how many people are right or wrong :) Number 57 22:02, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever "ḥ" is, I can't see it on my computer! This is not a Latin wikipedia - it's English, and there are differences between how different languages use the same alphabet - we don't differentiate between Het and Kaph in the way Mizrahis do - it's the same to English speakers, hence the letter being the same. Anyway, we need to be consistent with Hets, so if Petah Tikva remains so, Sakhnin and Kiryat Malakhi should lose their k's too - though I would prefer the addition of a k to Petah Tikva! Also, I think the Kfar issue needs attention - I have seen it Kafr, Kfar, Kefar and Kafar - surely it should just be Kfar? Another couple that should be changed - Qalansawe and Qatzrin. Hi Yan, I was wondering if you could put together something to replace Image:Expansion plan Ma'ale Adummim.gif, which aside from playing a games with Mt. Scopus, has its edge right before the Green line, so that it appears that places like E. Talpiot are in the middle of nowhere, and it defines the Old City etc. as "Palestinian built-up". Got it - also check out Category talk:Maps of the Palestinian territories. As for the map, it was licensed as fair-use, but I challenged that since it should be replaceable. Mandate/Mandatory

Hi again. I've re-reverted your change on the Mordechai Namir page. Mandate Palestine is the term used by the British government (see here and here) and the BBC, so is about as official as you can get! (Probably not your first) Image issue

Hi. The File:Bursa05.jpg contains the edge of a TNT ad (I thought I told you to keep the former until you photoshop it out!) - if you don't mind, I'll replace it with the previous one. I agree with you, the previous image had powerlines and telepoles blocking the view, as well as irrelevant buildings nearby, but I just can't scroll down an article and see a... well, you know what. It's just out of place. Could you please cut this part out, or remove a strip from the bottom of the picture altogether? Etams 17:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

If you re-edit the same article again and again, explain yourself on the 'Discussion' page, so that all users will see it and can respond, and not on a personal page of a single user, so I will have to start browsing around Wiki to find your reasons. See 'Discussion' in 'Gedera'
