I see you have reverted my section on breaks in this article. A similar section exists on Chartwell Elementary School. I think I'll rv that. Canadianshoper 06:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good call on the Chartwell article. Luke! 06:32, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RFA nomination

I see that you nominated yourself on RFA. Would you mind if I give you a co-nomination? And, one trivial question to ask, though we have so much cooperation in articles and discussions, I still don't know whether you're a boy or a girl. Please reply ASAP and thank you very much. Wish you success first in RFA. --Deryck C. 16:10, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Deryck C, Thank you for your support with my RfA. I am most humbled by your offer to co-nominate my RfA and welcome it. I will try my best to be worthy of the confidence that you have placed in me. Of interest, I am male. Thanks again and I look forward to our future collaborations. Just a reminder: don't argue with Hipocrite. It is fruitless arguing with a more reputable person upon unwritten conventions. The voters will decide whether they listen to his viewpoint. --Deryck C. 07:00, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've considered getting rid of it. But I'm alittle unsure as to if its better as a badge of honor or if its just a distraction. We'll see. Maybe soon though. Luke! 01:01, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

12.207.x.x.

I'm writing this to Alanbly, Luckyluke, and Aporkyltaros: this (12.207.115.187) is a shared computer. I have no idea who made those edits or any of the previous ones. But for crying out loud, is it really necessary to keep sending me messages about it? (And how exactly do I remove the "you have new messages thing" coming in to the IP?) -messersmith2

To remove the "you have new messages thing", you may simply select the (last changes) link when it comes up. When you check it, the message box will disappear. If you are editting from a shared computer (such as a library or a school computer), it would be best if you registered a username to differentiate between your edits and IP edits. Your subsequent edits will then be attributed to your username and not an IP. Luke! 20:38, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry, I apparently accidentally added you to the AIV page when trying to report the IP Vandal dorking up the Jenny McCarthy page. Fortunately the admin knew what I meant, and not what I said. Again, my apologies. -Quintote 00:19, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. I just visited the AIV page for the same reason. Must of been just moments before the admin noticed. Luke! 00:23, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jessica Alba personal info edit

I am a merchandiser for a national company who specializes in concert promotion and music merchandise. I have information from sources that Alba and Porpora are currently "seeing each other socially" acording to Porpora. What s actually needed in order to confirm personal updates on this site? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rocco2323 (talkcontribs) 00:50, 8 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

To start off, take a look at the Wikipedia guidelines for attributing and citing source which in general covers all content on Wikipedia. Since the Jessica Alba article is currently a biography about a living person, her article will be the subject of increased guidelines. From what you have told me so far, it sounds like the content you are trying to add falls under original research and does not use an independant, verfiable, published source to support it. Unless you can find such published sources, it looks like the content you are trying to add does not meet Wikipedia guidelines for inclusion. I hope this helps and should you need any help in the future, please do let me know. Luke! 01:00, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking to find the coordinates for the tower and thought you might be able to help. As far as I can see based on the small maps in the Canada Flight Supplement, Google Earth's image and your picture it should be at 49 17 11N 123 06 44W. The reason for getting them in is that it's the only control tower in Canda that is specifically for a water aerodrome. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On top of that do you have a reference for it being the highest in the world. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 08:49, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bobanny has just added the coordinates. I'll be looking for a source for the aerodrome content. Luke! 22:51, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
THanks. I know it's the highest but I couldn't find a solid source. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 04:28, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've added two sources - albeit fair weak sources except for the Nav Canada one. I thought it would be easier to find sources on such a claim. I will keep looking for more. Luke! 05:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:15, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Admin coaching

I saw your name on the coaching requests list. If you still need a coach and would like me to fill that role, I'd be happy to. I have just a few conditions, and they are that you:

  1. don't go for your RfA or accept an RfA nomination until I think you are ready.
  2. take the advice provided by me and your fellow students to heart (this will be a group effort)
  3. display the template {{VC assignments}} somewhere on one of your user pages where you can access it easily (at or near the top of your talk page is a pretty good place).

And that's it.

If you agree, I'll set up a section for you on the Virtual classroom, and we can get started.

I look forward to your reply. The Transhumanist   04:43, 11 March 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Hi, Transhumanist, thanks for your reply and taking note of my request for an admin coach. I am still in search of a coach and my search may have just come to an end. I agree to your terms and look forward to starting at your earliest convenience. Luke! 05:26, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== harbour -- something or other ==

Right you are. I googled it just because it rang familiar to me, but I didn't have time to look any deeper. I guess just because "Harbour" is in the name of the Harbour Control Tower that makes it confusing. Apols re Welsh Independence

Luke, give me a second I'm trying to make this a proper article. I'm going to delete the original!

Use the {{hangon|}} tag along with a reasonably valid reason to give notice that you contest the speedy deletion. I'll put this page on my watchlist to monitor its progress. If it progresses, it won't get deleted by an admin per CSD criteria. Luke! 00:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Western Cuisine

Thanks for re-nominating the article for deletion. Someone was suggesting that we do a mergeto instead? What did you change in the syntax anyways? I didn't seen any new history changes. Benjwong 05:59, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My changes can be seen directly after your initial page creation (they are two consecutive edits). Luke! 00:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. Both are now marked "Speedy close". Benjwong 01:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just for your information, I have since closed your second nomination per speedy close to allow the first nomination to run its course. This has been purely a maintenance edit to prevent other editors from being confused. Should you believe, that the outcome of the first AfD requires a deletion review, you may request one. Luke! 22:44, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

East Europe East

is a Central and Eastern Europe club in Asia based in Hong Kong. It is one of the very rare few organizations of its kind in the world -

1. it attempts to bring Central and Eastern Europe, two politically opposite regions together

2. it brings Central and Eastern European culture abroad - to Asia.

Non-profit, it is not a private club but an open to all transnational organization.

The first deletion by Redvers, known vandal, was made together with deletions of all my other contributions. Not much logic in that.

Perhaps you could advise how the article could be improved? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LaBohemienne (talkcontribs) 13:24, 27 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hey there

Hi

I was cleaning up WP:PM when I found your entry for merging MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. From the discussion on both talk pages, there did not seem to be consensus. Is that right, or was it clearly decided not to merge? I couldn't exactly figure out, but I'd like to help in any way if I could. If there was no consensus, then I would like to re-open the discussion. Any ideas about this?

Thanks xC | 09:48, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for taking note of the proposed merger. The notice found on WP:PM refers to the last proposed merge/move discussion from 2005. That discussion was closed with a no consensus. A similar request was made shortly after the previous closure in January 2007. The subsequent discussion was closed with an oppose move, keep at MSN Messenger, consensus. While there was no consensus reached in the merger relating to WP:PM, the subsequent keep at MSN Messenger consensus from January indicates a consensus. Since that decision was made in January 2007, I believe, it is still relatively early to initiate another discussion. However, the closing admin closed it only a week after the move was proposed - there may be grounds there to re-open it. However, you should contact the closing admin IanManka first to seek his rationale for closure, then decide on whether a re-open is necessary. Luke! 17:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do that then, I found it a little strange that the windows live messenger article has a notice at the top saying for the old versions called msn msngr click here. well, let me go check with ianmanka then, thanks! xC | 17:56, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Closing AfDs

Hi, it would be useful if, when your close AfDs where the article has already been speedily deleted, you could include the name of the deleting admin and their reason for doing so in your summary of the outcome of the discussion. Thanks, WjBscribe 22:10, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the pointer. Luke! 22:21, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wah Yan College Cats

Greetings from Canada,
I have across the article Wah Yan College Cats to which you deleted per CSD criteria and, subsequently approximately four hours later, restored it. I'm seeking your rationale for second-guessing yourself as I am considering nominating it for an AfD. I have since reviewed the article in its entirety. I can find little established notability to justify the existence of this article. It appears to be dominated heavily by content which has not been attributed properly - most likely original research, as the article history shows that it has only been edited by one registered editor. Additionally per notability guidelines for organizations, there appears to be insufficient secondary reliable sources out there to support this article. At most, I can see this article having a section in the Wah Yan College article, but not its own. Would love to hear your thoughts. Luke! 04:50, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[reply]

Hey Luke. I deleted the article under A7, but the article creator showed me some external sources which made me reconsider the speedy deletion (the conversation is in my archives somewhere, I'll dig it out). I did tell the creator, however, that the article could still be deleted under AfD, and may have considered doing so myself, except I wasn't sure it would be proper for me to do so. Anyway, I don't believe the subject is important enough to warrant inclusion, but still believed that speedy deletion was a little excessive, and wouldn't object to an AfD debate. – Riana 05:28, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the conversation, from the creator to me [1] and from me to the creator [2]. Hope that helps you set up your case somewhat. Cheers! – Riana 05:30, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info and taking the time to paste the discussion back onto my talk page as well. Much appreciated. :) Luke! 05:40, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding ratings suspension, as noted at Template:WikiProject Hong Kong/to do

Regarding the "ratings suspension" as noted at Template:WikiProject Hong Kong/to do (and therefore displayed on the WPHK template), I would like to know if the suspension is on importance only, or does it include both importance and quality. Thanks! --:Raphaelmak: [talk] [contribs] 08:11, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At this time, it is just on class/importance. Feel free to rate quality of articles. Luke! 19:43, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Slime Volleyball

Sorry about that...I wasn't worried about the links. Whichever version of the page you reverted to had the text "IM AWESOME" randomly inserted at the end of a section. I reverted to get rid of that text, and aparently choose a version with the links intact. (That wasn't my intention.)
