After looking over this article, it is not ready to be nominated. Areas that still need work include:

  • Well written – Despite its incredibly short length, there are grammatical errors throughout it. Articles should not be nominated until after they have been copyedited.
  • Broad coverage – This is the main issue. The article says next to nothing about his actual work. It essentially just tells us he was a great poet without actually covering his poetry. It looks like the only sources used are a few obituaries and two primary sources. Literary analysis should be a major element of the article's sourcing. If necessary, sources in the Swahili language can be used to supplement English language sources.
  • Neutrality – About half of the article is dedicated to how great and influential he was instead of simply describing his career.

Note that I have not evaluated the citations, as the other issues need to be fixed first. The article can be renominated at any time once these issues have been resolved. If more feedback is needed on how the article can be improved, it can be sent to peer review. More specific questions about editing can be answered at the Teahouse.
