Requested COI edits

Hello my name is Charlotte and I work at FGS Global.

As an employee I have a conflict of interest and cannot edit this page directly. It's come to our attention that the page for Roland Rudd, a founder and Chair of our company, has some outdated information and I am seeking to engage with Wikipedia editors to ensure his page is up to date with factual information that reflects his current titles and his role in the FGS Global merger.

These edits are purely factual and meant to provide an accurate picture to the Wikipedia community.

As always if you have any questions or concerns, please do get in touch here or via my Talk page.

Suggested changes:

Biographical information:

  • Rudd's current employer should be FGS Global instead of Finsbury. Finsbury has not existed since January 2021 and in October 2021, Finsbury Glover Hering merged with Sard Verbinnen & Co to form FGS Global[1]

Top/intro section:

  • The first sentence should be updated with his current role. Finsbury stopped existing in January 2021, so I suggest this sentence should read: "Roland Dacre Rudd (born April 1961)[1] is a founder and Chair of FGS Global, a public relations firm."[2] [3]
  • If we change the first sentence to match his current role, the second paragraph should not include 'He continues as chairman of Finsbury' and instead should read, 'He has a variety of other charitable and non-executive posts.'
  • I suggest that given Rudd's engagement with the EU and his campaigning for electoral reform was several years ago, the the bit about 'chairman of Finsbury' be removed (as this is no longer accurate) and this section ends with: 'Rudd is a founder and Chair of FGS Global and has a variety of other charitable and non-executive posts'[4] [5]

Career:

  • In paragraph 3 the first sentence should read: "In 1994, Rudd left the Financial Times to found Finsbury with Rupert Younger."[6]
  • The fourth paragraph second sentence should read: "In 2011, Finsbury merged with Robinson Lerer & Montgomery of New York."[7]
  • His career section is outdated as it ends in 2014 with RLM Finsbury rebranding just as Finsbury. I suggest adding in a new paragraph that says:

"In January 2021, Finsbury, The Glover Park Group (GPG), and Hering Schuppener completed their merger and management buy-in of 49.99%, and became known as Finsbury Glover Hering. Following the merger, Rudd and Carter Eskew, founder of GPG, served as co-chairs of the new firm.[8] [9]. In December 2021, Finsbury Glover Hering and Sard Verbinnen & Co. merged and rebranded as FGS Global, with Rudd as global co-chair. [10] In April 2023, Rudd helped negotiate a deal with KKR buying a 30% stake in FGS Global that valued the company at about $1.4 billion. [11] [12]

Other appointments:

  • This section could also use a few updates as the information is outdated. I suggest changing the text completely to read:

"Rudd has been Chair of Tate since 2021. [13] He serves as Specially Appointed Commissioner at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and is an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society. [14] [15] He is currently Chair of Governors at Millfield School [16], a trustee for the Speakers for Schools programme [17], and a trustee for the Made by Dyslexia campaign [18]. Rudd is a trustee of the Bayreuth Festival [19] [20] and was previously on the Board of the Royal Opera House from 2011 to 2017 [21]. He was also previously a trustee of the Garden Bridge Trust. He is a visiting fellow at Oxford University's Centre for Corporate Reputation, part of the Saïd Business School. [22]

I am not seeing a source for "He was also previously a trustee of the Garden Bridge Trust" if you could please indicate one. The dates of the Royal Opera House trusteeship are not indicated in the source you provided. Also, would you have access to a photo that can be published under a creative commons license which you could add to this page? K8bell (talk) 10:35, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
