Re:Vizard abilities

I just got done watching BLEACH episode #117 on YouTube. Clearly, the Vizard demonstrate superhuman speeds and flight. If jumping from the air isn't flight, what would it be called? You've seen the episode before? Lord Sesshomaru

Sorry for replying late, got caught up in a heated arguement. So, the Vizard walk on air? Hmmm... does that even have a name? Air bending perhaps? Or does it have more to do with their ghostly nature? Lord Sesshomaru
Ok, I would consider it "flying". I mean, you saw how the two jumped from the air and slowly landed onto a building right? When about to battle Toshiro? I'll place them in that flight category, and the super strength and speed for now. If anyone disagrees and reverts, I won't continuously dispute it as I have my reasons. As for Ichigo Kurosaki and Yoruichi Shihouin, I'm leaning towards adding them to the flying category too since the grandparent cat says: "The category also includes characters flying using items or tools as opposed to through force of will...". Any more objections then? I think this has been decided. Lord Sesshomaru
Yes, and I plan to categorize the Arrancar redirect with the three top mentioned categories as well. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru
I wish there was a way to categorize "air walking". Maybe a new category needs to be made for that. Your feelings on the flying item usage is negative? Lord Sesshomaru
Okay, to your belief, a character should only be categorized by popularity. Meaning, Ichigo's trademark cat. is speed, not the flying item. Same for the Yoruichi girl. That right? Lord Sesshomaru
What did you mean when you said, "I disagree on all counts but one", in your edit summary? What was that one? Lord Sesshomaru
I understand about the fire example. But of your edit summary? Lord Sesshomaru
I guess only the anime and manga superhuman strength and superhuman speed cats. shall be added to Vizard. Anything more you'd like to add before I do so? Lord Sesshomaru
It is a group of characters page, hence, the categories can serve for a group as a whole. Did you not see that? Lord Sesshomaru
Shouldn't the page be moved to Vizard in Bleach for consistency? And what about categories for D-Roy and Grimmjow? Redirected articles can have categories, as I've done for Chaozu and Piccolo Daimao. Lord Sesshomaru
You forgot to mention if the redirect is targeted to a section or list, as such {{R to section}} or {{R to list entry}}, then other categories are allowed since this guideline section is neutral, not all against it. From what we do know about D-Roy and Grimmjow is that they specialize in air combat, as said in the anime at least. Overall, are you saying that I should drop this category talk and move on? You're hinting towards it, as I can see, you don't think any other categories are needed for the Bleach-related articles. Are you 100% sure on that? Lord Sesshomaru
It also tells you when it's a situation where a legitimate altername name or the like is being categorized. "X can fly" is a trivial use, not a legitimate one. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 20:29, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit at WP:NOT

Hi, my guess is that you were trying to revert the anon who was soapboxing. However, I had just reverted him/her, and I'm not sure what your edit did.[1] Could you take a look, and self-revert if you think it necessary. It may have been some kind of software glitch, and I can't see what it did to the actual page, but it may have changed the coding. Thanks. ElinorD (talk) 22:15, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lolicon?

If LoliWikipe-tan is not a Lolicon image, why is she illustrating that article? Why is her name LoliWikipe-tan? Folks were insistent that a proper image was required that accurately illustrated Lolicon, and that a new one was needed because the previous image was too mature. Please correct the specific terminology if necessary, but the word Lolicon should be there somewhere, don't you think? If there's nothing wrong with it, why obfuscate the nature of the image with the caption that is there? -Jmh123 22:41, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you're saying. The entry says, "The meaning of lolicon has evolved much in the West...In the West, lolicon refers to anime or manga that contains sexual or erotic portrayals of prepubescent or childlike characters, and is thus close cognate to the Japanese term lolicon manga.[4] The use of the word lolicon is an indication that the material is overtly—even if not explicitly—erotic.[5]" I was thinking if you can have an anime figure, you can have a lolicon image. My problem remains; the caption shouldn't hide the true meaning of the image. How about "Wikipe-tan in a pose suggestive of lolicon anime"? -Jmh123 23:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not fine with it, obviously. Rather than edit war, I am trying to work out a compromise. Are you unwilling? -Jmh123 23:07, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't want to derail the Lolicon discussion, but this bugs me

I didn't see you invoking WP:IDONTLIKEIT to those who wanted a new image because they didn't like the old one, or questioning the validity of the argument when it was made to Ryulong. 83.245.135.80/AKA Anonyymi's argument at the end is completely self-contradictory. I don't think you are applying WP:IDONTLIKEIT consistently. Granted one regards deletion of the image and the other replacing it, but the spirit of the idea of "not liking" is the same. -Jmh123 23:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know how to make diffs, but because I was addressing a large number of comments, it was easier to just quote. I apologize for messing up your user page. Like I said, it's the spirit of "not liking" I'm questioning. That the motivation of those comments I quoted was in the nature of pure aesthetics in the spirit of improving the encyclopedia is an opinion we'll have to agree to disagree on. You said the same thing to Herostratus as you said to Tony, and his opinion was definitely not without explanation beyond, "I don't like it." He was objecting specifically to the use of Wikipedia symbols and would've left the whole thing alone if not for that, as would I. -Jmh123 01:15, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

I'm sorry about your RfA, I really hoped you would have carried on as it was by no means certain that it would have failed. I still think you would have made a fine admin and I really hope you'll apply again in the future. Ryan Postlethwaite 00:43, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aww, you would have passed, too. Ah well, next time will likely be better. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 00:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why the sudden closure? I think you could have made it. Well, shucks, your RfA shouldn't have been so damn tough. Anyway, please drop me a note if you ever change your mind. You can count on my support as many times as you need. Peacent 02:53, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Vanadlism on my user page [Ticket#2007061510002946]

I had left my user page on Wikipedia as it was on May 12, 2007. I find out almost a month later following an off-Wikipedia source, thet my user page was vandalized.

I do belive and have CONFIRMATION that the vandals (cyberbullies) known as users Yonathan, in which I belive to be a man named Jonathan from another site called TV News Talk, and Marcus TVNT, who claims to work in that site's legal department and has made a legal threat against me, have vandalized my user page, and I have printed off the evidence in which most of the vandalized page has been since been proven false proving them wrong, as I belive that they are in my trap, and felt I needed to contact them on their user page, pursuant to Wikipedia policy.

So with that in mind, I would appreciate if I get to the bottom of this dispute that will eventually end at Wikipedia, as long as this dispute has been met to my standards.

Sincerely,

(Aeverine Frathleen Nieves 06:55, 20 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Bleach

I rewatched episode #4 of the English anime and Rukia says something to the effect of: "In this gigai [body], I can't fly". What was that supposed to mean? The shinigami can fly? Lord Sesshomaru

I thought that was what she meant. When someone mentions flight, do fans usually think of the Dragon Ball flight or something else? Lord Sesshomaru
I suppose there is no category I can create to make up for the shinigami's unique "air-locomotion"? Something akin to Category:Anime and manga characters who can locomote anywhere? Suggestions? Lord Sesshomaru
Guess you're right. I do wish a distinction would be made so that fans who only watch the dub would know. Evidently, it is best just lefted uncategorized. Lord Sesshomaru
Aside, I have just watched episode #8 and wondered of something — do all of the shinigami in Bleach have the capability of phasing or turning intangible? I know Rukia did in the first episode when she met Ichigo and earlier, as I hazely recall, there was a minor shinigami character in YuYu Hakusho that did so as well, as I'm sure that Botan can too. Should I perhaps place the intangibility category in Category:Fictional ghosts? Ideas? Lord Sesshomaru
Since most ghosts in fiction can fly, should I place the flying category there too? I removed it some time ago, but perhaps I was incorrect. Lord Sesshomaru
Here is the link. Was this done wrongly, mind you? Lord Sesshomaru

RE: AFD - List of Saint Seiya Chapters

Was going to leave this on the AFD page, but thought I would leave it here because it isn't related to that article's deletion. As I said in the AFD, thank you for the information about Saint Seiya. As an American, it is difficult for me to keep track of every manga that hasn't made it big here in the States. I would, however, ask you not to be so sarcastic next time you inform someone about something like this. Just because it's very obvious to you that this manga is so popular doesn't mean that it is that obvious to everyone. I am doing my best to call it like I see it, and even though I try to follow anime and manga to what extent I can, it's impossible for me to get everything that's big (especially outside of this country) on my radar. Again, thank you for the information. Best regards, bwowen talk.contribs 04:01, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I now see how it gets deleted (through the article for deletion) process. Fineday 01:52, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please respect fellow wikipedians

Your comments on a picture listed for deletion here were both rude and unnecessary. Assume good faith, please. I would appreciate it if you withdrew your comments. John Smith's 14:40, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well then I can't assume good-faith about your own motives. John Smith's 21:14, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Who said you control my thoughts? I merely pointed out that if you don't want to retract a rather rude comment then that makes it difficult for me to believe you are acting in good faith. After all no one would make the initial comment that you did if they were acting in good faith, so your own behaviour rather speaks for itself. John Smith's 21:31, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you think there is no merit in the nomination, why did an admin support me on all those other nominations? That doesn't mean I'm right, but it surely means there is cause for the nominations. John Smith's 21:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just a small point - the admin I mentioned backed me up on the other picture you referred to and there are now two admins backing up on "Behead". So by your own logic, you allegations against me were groundless. Maybe you would reconsider withdrawing your original statement against me again. John Smith's 11:22, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for participating in the Lolicon RfC. Can you move your comment[2] to your own statement? This is so the previous debate is not resumed in the RfC section.

I changed it so it says "Written in the YEAR 1337" as it just said it was written in 1337 before that. I have no idea how to link to the actual edit I made (it's not with my username though, I forgot to login, stupid me). But yeah, just wanted to say hi! Kooper113 21:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tjstrf. Thanks for your active participation in the AFD discussion for the Plot of Les Mis article. I must, however, ask that you try to be more civil in your future comments on the page. For people who think that deletion would be a positive thing for the encyclopedia, making a comment in your keep opinion that "the scary thing is that I'm having to explain this to anyone" is, I feel, unnecessarily harsh to those of us who are also doing what we believe is best for the project. Differing opinions do not mean that people on the other side are stupid or ignorant; it just means they have a different view of how to make Wikipedia the best that it can be. Again, thank you for your insightful contributions, and I look forward to working with you again in the future. Best, bwowen talk.contribs 03:45, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bleach (manga)

I'm sure you're familiar with the detergent of the same name. Have you seen WP:HAT? Hence, the chemical detergent that was the entire reason why I finally decided to place both dabs. Understand that "BLEACH" redirects there, even though the brand name of the chemical is also populary seen as "BLEACH". If there's any dab that may be removed it should be the second one on the Lupin III page, can't quite decide on whether that has to be taken out or not. Ah, since you're back, you've taken a look at the bloated Category:Fictional characters I presume? It'd be great if you could assist me on unbloating that cat. whenever you're available. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bleach 01 - The Substitute.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bleach 01 - The Substitute.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. WikiProject Redwall Roll-Call

Bleach merger articles.

Guess what? Artist and Hartebeest just merged many many articles, with alot of information being lost. I have nothing to say. I did unmerge Shinji for the time being though. I never recalled an agreement to this. Go take a look at how everything is now.--Hanaichi 02:04, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bleach Images

Hey, how are you? As with the current edits that TTN made, stating that the images should be in groups, honestly I say that about less then 10 of those pictues exist. I guess the liuetenent and captains could be found, like Isane and Uohana, or Sajin and Iba, during the Soul Society arc when Sajin, Kaname, Iba and Hisagi fight Zaraki. If you need some help finding those pictures, please let me know.--Hanaichi 04:27, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wahaha I found the Classmate picture of Orihimes friends to replace the Chizuru one. I also found the Jinta Ururu one but not with Tessai. I'll go look for the Keigo and Mizuno soon, but I just started Year 10 so it'll probably take some time.--Hanaichi 13:23, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hyourinmaru

Well, it's just it IS a term for moon. I realize the individual kanji make "ice" and "ring".

And don't worry about the Hepburn. I just say Hyourinmaru in my edit summaries because I'm too lazy to bother getting "ō" and put it in that field. When I actually edit I use Hepburn.—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 05:09, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

...I can only wonder why he put it into WWWJDIC. Why would you put a Korean idiom, same kanji regardless, into any Japanese dictionary?—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 05:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Negroids

the people in the image are not considered Negroid. That is why I requested to have it deleted. If the author wants he should upload it under a different name. Muntuwandi 20:35, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The source of the image says they are, you simply refuse to acknowledge it. --tjstrf talk 20:38, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The source is in german not english. So I cannot verify what it says. All I know is that by the english definition the people in it such as bushmen are not considered negroid. Muntuwandi 20:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Multiple people who can read German confirm it says they are. It's an old text anyway, it's not expected to meet up with the current definition. --tjstrf talk 20:52, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But if they do why is the definition not consistent with the english definition. This is why i believe there is problem with the translation. It seems to mean black people and not the skull type Negroid. Muntuwandi 21:01, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Probably because different countries define the same terms in different ways, even in science. Especially historically. (Assuming you're even right about the definition to begin with.) --tjstrf talk 21:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Being english wikipedia, we should focus on the english definitions for consistency, since all other sources that we will find will be in English, Everything should support each other. It is like trying to write an article in English and chinese characters at the same time. Muntuwandi 21:08, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a Hello

Hey tjstrf - long time no see! I just wanted to give you a shout out since you were one of the first people to help me on Wikipedia. I'm glad you gt involved in the Negroids debate - although I'm starting to wonder if we can possibly find a true resolution. I think no matter what some people are going to end up on happy - but the problem is no one is willing to accept that. Phew - and to think I came to that article from WP:ANI thinking such a small article will surely only have a small dispute that will pass over quickly. Now some are saying the article should be deleted, some are saying the picture should be deleted, and others are saying the exact opposite. Will it ever end? Lol, well hey, I'll talk to you later - nice to see your name again.--danielfolsom 20:54, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From fiction notability talk...

... Speaking of which, I have yet to see a suggestion with better practical potential than Iorek's earlier draft. Why aren't we using that? --tjstrf talk 23:03, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • I haven't been able to bring myself into this discussion, like I should have; I just recently spent two months in a constant policy battle and am not in a hurry to repeat it; but tjstrf, agreed fully. Please stick to that issue and continue to develop and advocate the draft insofar as your time and energy allow. It's by far a better solution than the current WP:FICTION. I can try to join in when there's a need for a bit of manpower. --Kizor 00:59, 4 September 2007 (UTC

As the reviewing admin, this is not the way to do it. It lists the page in multiple places and confuses everyone dealing with it. But the suggestion to use a prod was right: actually, a prod is the only correct tag, for a hoax article cannot be deleted via speedy. Please read WP:CSD, where it says so very clearly--the reason is that what one person thinks an obvious hoax, about 5% of the time turns out not to be when others have had a chance to see it. And Speedy for non-notability does not apply to fiction--for a similar reason, what one person thinks totally unimportant another may recognize. So I've left the prod. The thing to do now is to follow up to make sure it isn't removed. There's at least one anonymous editor who is actually still working on the article! If it is removed, the thing to do is to send it to AfD, not replace the prod(for it will undoubtedly just be removed again). Good catch, by the way. DGG (talk) 16:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of Bleach shinigami

Hi Tjstrf! I'm in the army for longer periods again, so I ask you to please please watch the List of Bleach shinigami page, and other Bleach pages, because the situation is getting out of hand with some users merging without consensus, completely changing the layout, etc. We may have to raise it to RFC, RFM or something similar. For now, please prevent certain users from vandalizing the pages. Thanks! -- Ynhockey (Talk) 10:02, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haha

I saw you quoted another line of "The Rose" on that stupid poll. Seriously, when I read that poll, that's what it reminded me of. Except the melodrama hadn't gotten to the point where he was passed out in a phone booth with a heroin needle in his arm, like the tragic diva in that film. Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 10:48, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: RE: Genre categories

I only plan to arrange the naturally occuring themes for Bleach: Action, Adventure (maybe), Comedy (this should be specified), and Supernatural. I agree with you that the Drama-related topics should be deleted; it isn't 100% clear on what actually classifies as Drama. Would you consider a cfd for the Drama categories as well the removal of Drama in the genre boxes for all anime/manga? And what did you mean by this "mean" comment? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 04:49, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've done some extensive cleaning on genre and cats. I think Tokko is both a constant Crime genre and Crime fiction wouldn't you agree? And while you're going at it, Category:InuYasha, Category:Sailor Moon, Category:YuYu Hakusho, Category:Saint Seiya, and perhaps several others need the same kind of maintenance. I wish I had been told about this genre severity earlier, at WP:DBZ we had a BIG discussion about this right here. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 05:07, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On Rurouni Kenshin, is Historical fiction supposed to be wikified [[Historical fiction|Historical]]? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 05:16, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate everything Erachima, I will take the time to read WP:MOS-MANGA soon. As for Dragon Ball, I'd say every cat. and genre already there, as well as the Martial arts genre should be included (everyone's a martial artist in the series, this is why I think it should be set) Can we work together on this? Genre/theme specification I meant? I hope we can settle the Bleach case too. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 05:43, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I vaguely remember Fist of the North Star and have not watched all of Tenjho Tenge (that show is kinda boring), but I see what you're getting at; DBZ did stray from the martial arts subject and the rest was just implied. You do realize we have a lot of work to do right? I'm trying to be 'very' careful now as to not add so many cats/themes in the boxes. I could really, really use your help: Lupin III, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Cat, Zombie Powder, Inukami!, Black Lagoon, and others may need the same kind of attention & fixing (and let's take care of those related categories too while we're at it). I propose we make a to-do list or something. Or do you have something else in mind? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 07:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great job, though you may want to retrace your steps and add {{catmore1|[[]]}} to the ones you missed. I've gotten a few after you but we'd get the job done faster by doing this altogether. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 08:12, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What other cats. are useful? I assumed you were planning something when you did this. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 08:20, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm about to stop but I have to ask you: shouldn't Fighting Spirit (anime) be moved to Fighting Spirit (manga)? According to the page, the manga came about 10 years before an anime was made. Well, could you please do the honours and move the article? I'm just about ready to finish these few categories and hit the hay. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 09:27, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, that's enough for me. My last edit was at Category:Kinnikuman‎. If I have the strength I'll continue from the last contribution there and onward. Good night! Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 09:56, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you take a look at Dr. Slump‎? I couldn't decide whether kemono elements should have been added and I admit you have a knack for this stuff. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 07:18, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not gonna argue this, but that manga you showed me looks quite interesting. Think I'll read it someday. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 07:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cancelled? That reminds of another manga I've read. You know of a site where I can quickly read the whole +Anima? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 07:48, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge tags

The merge tag does not indicate a consensus, it is meant to stimulate discussion and point out a proposed merger. Please don't remove properly posted tags. --Kevin Murray 00:52, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree that merger is not the correct approach in many cases, but I'd like to see more people coming to the discussion, than just those of us who watch the talk pages. Cheers! --Kevin Murray 01:00, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Bleach images

Done. I added the two images I took from Bleach: Memories of Nobody, Image:UkitakeShikaiBleachMovie.jpg and Image:KiraShikaiBleachMovie.jpg, to Category:Bleach images rather than Category:Bleach anime screenshots. Should they be added to the latter? Thanks. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 03:09, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sode no shirayuki

Don't even begin to try and correct me on japanese. I corrected a wrong translation and that's all; My correction was not completely wrong) Sode no shirayuki does not mean sleeve of white snow. Sode is sleeve, shirayuki is white snow 'no' = 's, and so sleeve's white snow. Can you understand that "sleeve's white snow" would mean that the white snow here "belongs" to the sleeve, not the other way around. Let me give you a simple example; tom's book = the book of tom. Can you see that. And therefore; Sleeve's white snow = white snow of the sleeve. Not sleeve of white snow. This is the fullest explanation i can give you as to why i am right, and you are wrong. I'm not trying to criticize you, i'm just trying to improve an article. So next time you want to correct a language, look at the real facts first, don't rely on whatever manga translation you've read. Even try running it through google translator, and you'll see that i'm not wrong.
