Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Heuschrecke 10 turret off.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Heuschrecke 10 turret off.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ɛƚƈơƅƅơƚɑ talk 17:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Filled it in, Hope I understood it all properly. // F9T 18:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC) [reply]

RE: Admin coaching

Yes please! But you told me to go here and fill it out, but it's a blank page - what do I write in it?

Thanks!!!

cf38talk 18:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've filled it out.

Thanks, cf38talk 20:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the deletion flags from these images. Even if the proper non-fair use rationale and license tags are added, they are not relevant unless you have been given permission by the images’ authors to so use them. Simply put, you cannot take images from other websites and just throw tags onto them. We can bring this to the attention of a sysop if needed, but further removal of the warnings will be considered vandalism unless proof is provided that the authors have released the images. Ɛƚƈơƅƅơƚɑ talk 19:37, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for getting back to me on this. I'm not trying to cause trouble, I just want to ensure that we're staying on the right side of the law. Ɛƚƈơƅƅơƚɑ talk 19:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • You don't need to send the permission emails to me, I believe you. Just follow the steps on WP:COPYREQ and send the permissions to "permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org" and tag the images accordingly. Ɛƚƈơƅƅơƚɑ talk 20:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ottawa/Gatineau

I'm Actually from the city of Gatineau, but it is the biggest suburb of Ottawa and directly facing much of the city as well including both downtowns facing each other.--JForget 02:44, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I wasn't aware that you were from the region (no userboxes of either the WikiProject, the city of Ottawa or Gatineau) And thanks for that barnstar as well.--JForget 02:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you be a little more specific on the permission you have for Image:Heuschrecke 10 rear view.jpg? Mr.Z-man 10:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and Happy New Year

Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for all your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.

Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any extra articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.

Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be great to have your feedback/comments and participation in the recently-set-up Tag & Assess workshop The idea is to see what lessons we can learn from the 2007 drive to make the 2008 one more efficient and enjoyable.

Thanks again for your help, --ROGER DAVIES talk 10:36, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

I think there is already a Syrian Arabian article, it's just titled 'Syrian'..... maybe we should merge? If we decide to, could you help me?

Apologies

Sorry. I created a Syrian Arabian article, about horses, and there seems to already be a 'Syrian(Horse)' article about the Syrian Arabian. Should we merge/combine/whatever you call it?

--Éowyn of Rohan | Talk (MWB) 17:39, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

sorry

Now I can't find it. Sorry. Well, you can just forget it now. I suspected there was two similar articles, and finally got to checking up on it....now its gone.

Marking patrolled

In order to mark a page as patrolled, you first have to go to Special:Newpages. From there, you click on a recently created article, and if the article is listed for deletion (via prod, speedy, or AFD), or if you feel that the article should remain on Wikipedia, you click the "Mark page as patrolled" link at the bottom of the page. That way no one is wasting time looking at an article that already has been looked at. Hope that helps! Icestorm815 (talk) 21:59, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
