NATO Medal Edit - Thanks!

I didn't write it, but I got the IP address now I guess. I didn't even know you could make edits without an account. This is my first Wikipedia edit, woo hoo!

CRT edit

Hi, I'm the anonymous user who edited the Chinese Remainder Theorem page. Did you actually look at my changes before reverting them? I understand that it is helpful to provide edit summaries, but it shouldn't be necessary for a user to be either logged in or provide an edit summary --- that seems to go against the whole point/spirit of Wikipedia. Anyone who can make a helpful change should be able to make one, and other users should probably not revert them without a careful check unless they are obviously vandalism.

Help

Hey, my IP is blocked(58.65.203.8) and i want to create account. how can i do it? They are asking me to create account what shud i do?

50 Cent article

I didn't mean to permanently remove the content. I cut it to figure out how to solve a bug i saw, i immediately put the content back. Damn you were quick, to see the change xD.

Radziejow

You said my changes were unconstructive? Please explain to me how the following paragraph is a constructive addition to a town entry?

"After the war, survivors who returned to Radziejów found that all Jewish-owned houses had been taken over by Poles. Survivors were afraid to remain because Polish groups were killing Jewish survivors, including a returning Jewish father and son in nearby Osięciny[5]."

"all Jewish-owned houses" Every single one? Can this be proved? Sources?

What do people from "nearby Oscieciny" have to do with Radziejow??

The entry reads just fine without these lines, they add absolutely nothing to the conversation. They were added by someone with a bias, there is even a link to the Wiki from their website. Biased.

Morever, look at source 4: ^ Excerpt of Speilberg Foundation video Holocaust testimony of Ben Neuman. Retrieved on 2007-05-21. Visit the website www.polandinjustice.com, who authored this portion of the wiki. This person is adding a source that is his own father's testimony. Is this not bias?

Can you please either protect or resolve this issue for the Radzijow entry? I am removing some lines which do add anything to the entry and which are obviously biased, as explained here and on that page. The other author, however, continues to revert the changes for which the main source is his FATHER. They have added nothing to the discussion, nor any reason for the reversion. Please advise. It's like I'm talking to someone else. Similar Story: A week ago, I was playing Halo 3 on 360, and I meet this guy who says he can kill me easily. I was like yeah, you're a commander (that's pretty good). So thinking that I'm screwed I played him, and beat him 25-1. And you know what he said at the end?: "I shouldn't have gone on my brother's account" (I really have no idea how that connects, but heck, thought I should tell you) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 03:45, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Decent. But I know a couple of kids at school who could kill me with their eyes closed. But I know a lot of kids who I can kill with my eyes closed :) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 03:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, people do that. But after a while it gets boring. And no, I've never done that. Except for this one kid at least. Yesterday, he was playing from 4pm to 3am which is really paranoid. And I can GUARANTEE you that he's playing right now. (Halo - the only game he plays) And, no, that's not me. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 03:54, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(You get the idea, I don't need to send you these talkback things, right?)

Template deletion

Some time ago you deleted {{Mario Kart series}} (due to a nomination at TFD). I believe this nomination and discussion was flawed because the template itself was, as I understand it, never tagged for deletion (or if it was, it was tagged only after being up for deletion at TFD for a number of days). My request is to have the template (and associated talk page) undeleted and a new discussion started at TFD. BTW, sorry I didn't get to this sooner, that'll teach me to not pay attention (or rather, to try to pay attention to too many things at one time). —Locke Coletc 03:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I checked - the template was tagged for deletion.   jj137 (talk) 03:52, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Strange, at the TFD discussion another editor indicated it wasn't tagged until days after the TFD was initiated. Can you verify this statement was incorrect? Thanks. =) —Locke Coletc 05:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It was in fact tagged 11 minutes before the TfD was initiated, and removed by an IP about two days later:
  • 00:32, 2 January 2008 (diff) . . Dream out loud (Talk | contribs | block) (761 bytes) (TfD) - this is where it was added.
  • 18:58, 3 January 2008 (diff) . . 71.240.174.67 (Talk | block) (648 bytes) - this is where it was removed.

I was thinking the same, but then I saw that similar edits were coming from different IPs in a similar range. Check the history. Rudget. 16:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do a little more digging, and if I can't find anything I'll unprotect it. Rudget. 16:52, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I've just seen this (the history, set it to 100) - this pattern of editing stretches back to December by numerous IPs. Protection seems the only way to prevent this disruptive editing. Regards, Rudget. 16:55, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject College football March 2008 Newsletter (full contents)

The College football WikiProject Newsletter
Issue IV - March 2008
Project news
  • SatyrBot is now delivering weekly updates to the Wikiproject College Football to-do list. Have a few minutes, but don't want to start a whole new article? Check out the to-do list and knock one or two items off. If everyone pitches in, it'll go a long way towards making Wikiproject College Football the best source for college football information on the Internet.
  • Gwguffey has created a series of navigation boxes for college football stadiums for every state in the United States. If you're creating an article about a new stadium or updating a current article about a stadium, be sure to include one. It'll make the page more useful to readers, and they look darn nice, too.
  • SatyrBot assessed approximately 4,300 previously-unassessed college football articles. There are still over 1,500 unassessed articles out there, so if you get a chance, feel free to lend a hand.
  • If it becomes necessary to use an archaic name for a university, link to the modern name and/or Wikipedia page. Example: Virginia Polytechnic Institute. This is particularly common in articles dealing with subjects prior to the separation of NCAA divisions in the 1970s. (Discussion)
  • A motion to create a Wikiproject High School Football has been brought up on the talk page.
  • Editors are reminded that any template that automatically includes a fair-use image (such as a university logo) will be automatically deleted by Wikipedia. Instead, create a general template that asks the user to select the logo rather than automatically including the logo inside the template.

Welcome to the latest issue of the College football WikiProject newsletter! I hope that you're enjoying regular updates about the goings on of college football on Wikipedia, but if not, feel free to add your name to the "no delivery" section on the newsletter signup page.

I encourage everyone to make regular visits to the College Football Portal and perhaps make it your Wikipedia entry page instead of using the Main Page as your gateway. Nominations for selected articles and pictures are always welcome, and can serve as a great way to show off that new article you just shepherded to Good Article status or the great picture you took the last time you were at a game.

Comments and suggestions on improving the newsletter are always welcome, and help me improve it on a monthly basis. Keep contributing and editing, and don't hesitate to contact me or post on the College Football Wikiproject talk page if you need help or just want someone to look over your article.

Possible edit-war in progress

I'm working on and trimming out the not-needed parts of the Boston Celtics article according to the FA checklist, but I am constantly reverted by User:8-Hype. RFA

Do you think it's too early for me to try RFA again? The main opposwe reason was "too frequent RFAs", but I can address that. My last one was about two months ago, and I think I could pass this time. A few questions

Hi, sorry to bother you, but I have a few questions...

  1. Is the 3-month, 3000 edit thing a hard-fast rule for RfA's? Or is it just recommended?
  2. Is it OK if I give another responsible editor huggle?
  3. Do you have to manually change the thing on your userpage that says you are online?

Thanks for your time. J.delanoygabsadds 20:09, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what you did re: 'farrell/your talk page protection' is pretty cowardly. you've earned my respect? I don't think so. that is so spineless that even some people with "alternative" lifestyle could bend you to their will. you know what happens when you sit on two chairs, don't you? enjoy their std-infested loins with your face. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.141.222.35 (talk) 23:49, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Edmeades

Hello. I currently work for Eric Edmeades -- cleaning up online content for his office. I have been away for a few weeks but arrived back to find that you have deleted Wikipedia page for Eric. It seems a notice of pending deletion was posted, no one objected, and now it is gone.

I am not really familiar with Wikipedia policies but when Eric noticed that there was a Wiki page put up he asked me to keep it accurate and clean -- and so I have done for several months.

When an admin note appeared that requested better 'wikification' of the site, I looked it up and followed the instructions. Each time a moderated asked for improvements or changes, I have done what they have asked.

Some months ago someone put a notability challenge on that site and it was contested by someone else before I could respond, and the notice was taken down. (Eric's notability is well established, he is an international speaker with significant followings in South Africa, England, Singapore, New Zealand and the United States. He establishes schools in Tanzania and spends 250+ days of the year speaking to social entrepreneurs around the world. Various 'famous' quotes sites have been quoting him for over a decade.

Can you help me with the grounds on which this page was taken down? I want to get some answers before I speak to Eric. When his Wiki article first appeared he suggested having it taken down because we could not control the content and I convinced him the a fair and impartial collaborative article/resource about him was a good idea. We have now spent quite a lot of effort making sure that the information you had on Eric (wherever it came from) was accurate and fair. The site was never used for sales/promotion but simply impartial information.
