The Edge 96.1 (call sign: 2ONE) is a music radio station based in outer Sydney, Australia but licenced to Katoomba. It plays mainly R&B and hip hop music. It is operated by the Australian Radio Network.

Before its "Hip hop and R&B" phase, the station played Top 40 mainstream CHR, before that (c. 1998) Alternative Rock. Although licensed to Katoomba/Blue Mountains/Penrith, its signal, at 5 kW located at Wentworth Falls is enough to cover about 70% of the Sydney basin. By virtue of being a 'fortuitous' station, it is not included in Sydney Nielsen polls (forming part of the 'Other' stations). 96.1 was taken to court in the 1990's for excessive coverage overspill. The ABA lost.

In 1997, The station (owned by Mike Walsh) was sold to ARN and now, ARN owns three Sydney radio stations (The Edge, WS FM and Mix 106.5). Legally, it only owns the latter two (in the Sydney market), therefore can get around current media ownership restrictions.

Current presenters include Christo for Breakfast with Emma, Kitty Kat throughout the day, Mike E and Wendy in Drive, and Suga Shane in the evenings. The program director is radio legend Charlie Fox, who is also the program director for WS FM. You can check the entire team out at [www.961.com] or [www.myspace.com/edge961].

Previous Station ID'S since 1992 include One FM, 9inety6ix.1one varying from Top 40 to Rock Only playlists.

It is classified by the ACMA as a 'Regional' and not a Sydney 'Metro' Commercial Radio Station, due to radio ownership laws. This mean that they pay cheaper License fees, but consequently, The Edge is not included in Sydney Radio Market Surveys.

It was formerly AM station 2KA.
