The Event

I added some personal information given to my by Lori Ann Cole in a private conversation. Since it was in personall conversation, I don't know if this is also written anywhere online. Anyone who is interested, is free to try to contact her from the site or forum. Pictureuploader 15:42, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe that it is. I've never heard anything about the "event" before.

There is now confirmation of this event. I have added the cite to the article.

Mordavia Origin

I don't think Mordavia is a portmanteau of Mordor and Moldavia, and I don't think it's NPOV to say that it probably is. I would think Moravia would be more likely as it's a real place in the same part of the world. -- stubblyhead | T/c 03:49, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't think that either is more likely than the other; therefore, either supposition is fine to make, though no definitive conclusion could be made about either. Moldavia and Moravia are both very similar to Mordavia (obviously), what's the point in trying to suggest one is more likely than the other ...?

Questionable Edits

Uh ... some of the edits are questionable: 1) What QG game ever takes place in Siana (Asia)? If Siana was mentioned, then it should be moved to the "Locations Mentioned" section; no matter what, it should not be under the "Locations in which the games take place" heading. 2) Falworth? What location does this correspond to? When/by whom was it mentioned? 3) Willowsby was mentioned in the QG book/strategy guide written by Paula Spiese - NOT any of the games. I don't think it can be considered canon.

Since it's authorized, it's as canon as we can get. See about KQ companion. Pictureuploader 22:26, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What about the other locations: Siana and Falworth? When/where are they mentioned in the games or game material?

Sketch of Glorianna

I have sent an email to the Coles asking for any map or sketch they have of Glorianna, and their correct spelling of it (so that debate can be ended and section removed). Hopefully they'll respond. 71.106.229.252 17:43, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK from our discussions, they haven't ever done a map, but lets us wait and see. Pictureuploader 10:47, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Falworth

Why is Falworth being placed back into the canon location list? It was not in any of the game manuals, and it was not mentioned in the games. Therefore, it is not canon. Siana should not be in that list either.

Google reveals that Falworth is mentioned on Issur's shield in QFG2. Since I replay the games every year or so in order (yeah.), and am about to restart QFG2, I will keep an eye out for it. Noxic 03:10, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I have replayed QFG2 and can confirm that both Falworth and Petalumeir are mentioned when one looks at Issur's trophy shields. 76.27.233.4 (talk) 20:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fanon

I strongly feel that the fanon should be removed from this article entirely. Fanon is not featured in the articles for similar game-worlds like Daventry and Arcadia. Even wildly popular universes such as that of the Redwall books, which have extensive amounts of fan art and fiction, do not include fanon in their articles. I feel that the fanon compromises the quality and scope of the article. It opens the door for anyone who has written fanfic to add their locations. If anything, fanon should be given its own article, but it should be removed entirely from this one. Noxic 22:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you have a point. However this wouldn't be enough for me to move on and delete all of it. You have me supporting though Pictureuploader 22:55, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. It should be removed. X-Nihilo
Is some sort of consensus necessary to delete the fanon stuff, or can someone just go ahead and do it? Barnard of Spielburg

Misnamed

I came here looking for information on the word Glorianna. What the hell is this? This article needs a new title, because its subject is less important than the source word.

Ehm... read the whole article maybe? Pictureuploader 08:23, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was the name of the world (Glorianna) even mentioned in any of the games? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.248.46.7 (talk) 21:25, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spielburg

I was under the impression (I'm not sure from where) that the name Spielburg was in reference to the words used in modern English of spiel and burg (with etymologies from yiddish and middle/old english instead of modern german), implying "story town" rather than the literal modern german translation of game castle. While it's true that spiel and burg do have those meanings in modern German, if Spielburg was not named with the intent of "game castle", then it's a bit misleading. Does anyone have a source one way or the other? GAdam 16:23, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Siana

Siana has been deleted from the list of "Locations Mentioned". The only "mention" is by the non-fanon article which analogizes that that is what Asia MAY be called.

External Links

Just like with the main Quest for Glory page, this article had a long list of links that is superfluous to the article. Wikipedia is not for a collection of links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.183.76.96 (talk) 13:34, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
