Fair use rationale for Image:BrunoSchweitzer.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BrunoSchweitzer.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 10:27, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Biskupia8.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Biskupia8.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Biskupia8.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. BJTalk 12:42, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:BrunoSchweitzer.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:BrunoSchweitzer.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 11:14, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mohammedtaheriazar.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Mohammedtaheriazar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by an adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Non-free image of living person. See WP:FU "unacceptable uses" I12:

Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing; provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image. However, for some retired or disbanded groups, or retired individuals whose notability rests in large part on their earlier visual appearance, a new picture may not serve the same purpose as an image taken during their career.

Thanks

I would just like to take this time to say that I appreciate your work on Sohail Qureshi. I started the article more or less as an experiment after I saw Yahoo! News and saw that Qureshi didn't have his own Wikipedia article. Thanks to you, he has a decent article in his name so no one will forget him. I should do this more often. --Chinese3126 (talk) 00:50, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, actually, I don't know anything about him. I just saw the news article, saw that Wikipedia didn't have an entry, and decided to write a small stub statement. You should take a look at how immature it is. It seems that a number of people have taken initiative to improve my half-assed articles and that's one of the reasons why I find Wikipedia amazing. I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your hard work on Wikipedia. It's good that you kept up-to-date on him because otherwise he would still be the London dentist who got arrested for sending money.--Chinese3126 (talk) 01:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
