Warning regarding unlinking of dates

As this practice (and the actual manual of style guideline) are currently in dispute, you should probably back off of unlinking dates until the dispute is resolved. Prior ArbCom cases have looked unfavorably on editors who attempt to force through disputed changes on a large scale as you (and other editors) are doing. Specifically, Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Episodes_and_characters_2/Proposed_decision#Fait_accompli, which I quote:

Editors who are collectively or individually making large numbers of similar edits, and are apprised that those edits are controversial or disputed, are expected to attempt to resolve the dispute through discussion. It is inappropriate to use repetition or volume in order to present opponents with a fait accompli or to exhaust their ability to contest the change. This applies to many editors making a few edits each, as well as a few editors making many edits.

Continuing this behavior could be considered disruption. Please stop and instead participate in the ongoing discussions at WT:MOSNUM and elsewhere. Tennis expert (talk) 07:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Slight problem

Thanks. Interesting. I reported two bugs myself in Wikipedia talk:AutoWikiBrowser/Bugs. I'll download the new AWB snapshot which is supposed to detect and warn about duplicated defaultsorts. These kind of problems enforce my opinion that Lifetime has to be removed completely. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:14, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly! I keep reporting different kind of problems caused by the use of Lifetime and hopefully I'll bring the subject under discussion again soon. As step 1, we have to get rid of BD. Especially, [1] shows that many editors may are using a template but don't really know how it works. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:42, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

Ok, I have been working on the So You Think You Can Dance Canada webpage and repeatedly a contestants name is being removed and switched to "Cheeseball." As well, pertinent information is being removed, results changed (to reflect this contestant being removed from the competition and others staying around longer than they did). Most of the time, I can't even undo the revisions because they don't appear to be happening. It is getting frustrating and there are two IP address users that are doing it. How do we deal with the vandalism? Tahutton (talk) 22:35, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I forgot about this question, when I looked at the history for the article it gave me a headache and I just ran away in terror. I'll check it out eventually :-/ --Closedmouth (talk) 13:49, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Siberian Tatar language listed at RfD

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Siberian Tatar language. Since you had some involvement with the Siberian Tatar language redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Flickr help

Hello Closedmouth, I noticed you had an account at Flickr. Is there any chance you could help me. Would it be possible if you could contact the owners of the following images and ask them if they are prepared to have their work used in Wikipedia. I work on articles relating to Michael Jackson, being the reclusive figure he is, images are very hard to come by and the article isn't exactly attractive. Any help you could offer would be highly appreciated, seriously like a million barnstars your way fantastic. Anyway, these are the images I'm interested in...

If any of these people are not the copyright owners of the images then obviously don't worry about them. I really hope we have some success with this, it's a shame that a featured article on such a public figure is so bland in appearance. — Realist2 23:17, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see what I can do. --Closedmouth (talk) 06:49, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I've made the initial contacts, give it a few days or weeks and we'll see how it turns out. --Closedmouth (talk) 07:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
