This page should be moved to 12 Wing Shearwater and have CFB Shearwtaer redirect to there, as CFB Shearwtaer has not officially existed since the stand up of 12 Wing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.68.131.122 (talk) 10:00, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is an external link to "Accident history for YAW at Aviation Safety Network" - this link seems to be listed for a lot of airport listings, even though in this case (and many others) it contains a Google Earth picture of the airfield and no other data (all entries in the template are blank). Is this a standard link for airports? If not it should be removed since it does not contain any useful data. HiFlyChick (talk) 00:55, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears on several airports and in this case there seems to have been no accidents. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 08:48, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History

Under History, reference is made to old runway 16/34 being outside the fenceline per the CFS - however, the CFS makes no reference to the fenceline, nor to the current position of runway 16/34H relative to the old 16/34. Also, the link to the Chronicle Herald article comes up blank. HiFlyChick (talk) 01:06, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We just got the new CFS today (31 July-25 September) and a quick look at the diagram does show the older 16/34 as being outside a fence. I suppose to be more correct it should say northeast but east is OK. The only thing the IP missed was the fact that it's no longer listed as "Halifax/Shearwater Airport" but as "Halifax/Shearwater Heliport". CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 08:48, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oops - that's the first version of the CFS that shows that and I was using an older version at home - sorry about that! HiFlyChick (talk) 20:07, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Our CFS is usually late so updates have to wait. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 19:04, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move page to 12 Wing Shearwater?

Just wondering what other editors feel about moving this page to 12 Wing Shearwater, as CFB Shearwater is technically now an obsolete name. Any objections? --hfx_chris (talk) 16:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
