Genres

Previously, the genres included Comedy, Parody, and Satire. I reduced this down to just "Satire". Satire and parody are petty much synonyms of each other and both are forms of comedy or humor. Listing all three is both repetitiveness and redundant when only one would do just fine. --Farix (Talk) 23:37, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Satire and parody are different things. Satire is poking fun at failures, shortcomings and vices. Parody is poking fun at something through imitation. Satire can be parody, parody can be satire, but not all parody is satire and not all satire is parody. Also, not all humour in Lucky Star is derived from either satire or parody. Name Mix-up

I have noticed on some merchandise (mainly cell phone charms) Konata and Tsukasa's names are mixed up. Mew Mitsuki (talk) 18:55, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stepmania and other stuffs.

There's a bunch of Lucky Star songs/videos concering Lucky Star in the Stepmania game. Should that be added?

Also, I've noticed that Konata bears a very close resemblance to Shana of Shakugan no Shana. Besides physical resemblance, they also like sweet breads (Shana likes melon bread while Konata is obsessed with chocolate cornets). I've also heard that Konata has sung her fair share of Shana songs as well. Not sure if that rumor is true or not, though.

Another character resemblance can be found between the Hiiragi twins and Kyou and Ryou from Clannad. First of all, both series have them as purple-haired twins. Kyou is a tsundere who can be violent and is a good cook (the part about Kagami being a bad cook might be a spin-off of this). Ryou, the younger, is timid and can't cook well (again, probably an inside joke). Also, she is obsessed with fortune telling, while Tsukasa is rather gullible and is also into things such as making wishes on shooting stars. Plus, both Clannad and Lucky Star are produced by KyoAni. First of all, I'm not familiar with Stepmania, but it'll probably be worth a mention in the reception section granted it's sourced by reliable sources.

Second of all, Konata does not sing any songs from Shakugan no Shana in Lucky Star, and any resemblance is only a coincidence. I myself think Shana and Konata look nothing alike, and their personalities are stark opposites.

Third of all, the comparison between the Hiiragi twins with the Fujibayashi twins is just a coincidence, especially when even though the anime were both produced by KyoAni, Clannad began as a visual novel, and the fact that KyoAni ended up doing both Lucky Star and Clannad is just a coincidence. So, just like the Konata/Shana comparison, there is no basis for this, unless you can find an interview of Kagami Yoshimizu saying he was influenced by Clannad, which is impossible because Clannad did not come out until a few months after Lucky Star began serialization (but Clannad had been in development for several years before that).--十八 02:24, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Stepmania reception should not be added, as Stepmania itself is a fan-based game. After all, almost every anime opening already been in Stepmania, so I don't really see Lucky Star has significant impact in the Stepmania community Nggak (talk) 12:58, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note that although I thought for a moment that the link I removed was not archived, it appears that the Internet Archive search function is down at the moment. November release verification needed

Recently, I saw several sources that conflict: Some say Nov. 4 (the previous uncited statement, as well as in some blog I stumbled upon), few say Nov. 18 (like DVD Empire). And Anime News Network makes no mention yet. I'm gonna have to try to find more sources. Not to mention that product pages may not be suitable; however, I saw that DVDEmpire was cited on other articles here. --Addict 2006 16:02, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reference/citation for that? It was serialised in Shōnen Ace, so unless you have something by the author or publisher stating it is seinen, we'll have to leave it listed as shōnen. David Bailey (talk) 16:23, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apart from apparent seinen targetting (amount of parody, pace, etc) it was airing at midnight. Clearly a seinen series, IMO.
