Tre-Taliesin
Hi, How are you doing? I created the article Tre-Taliesin. But it already tagged orphaned. Before linking it from other pages, i wanna know the correct name. Is it Tre-Taliesin or Tre Taliesin. Cheers!--Chanaka L (talk) 13:19, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

I agree - it looks like it could use some work. Anyhow, today I'm going to take my camera and get a few photos for Wikipedia; with luck I can get some good shots today. It's supposed to be gorgeous out this afternoon. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 15:26, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

English + Viet
I actually can't read that much Vietnamese. My parents are both full Chinese, but my father born and raised in Saigon, so he has a good command of both languages. I know some myself, well... these articles look like stubs, so I'm going to try. Just a warning, though: I am NOWHERE near a native or even intermediate speaker's level. Sorry for the late response, somehow I saw this message earlier but forgot to respond... for a WEEK. ★Dasani★ 19:33, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Nunavut communities
I've restored the File:Canada geopolitical map trim.jpg. Partially because only some of the places had File:Location map Canada.png added, while others still had the Canada geopolitical map. Also because the Location map Canada is not as clear. There are no provincial/territorial boarders making it hard to see where in releation to the rest of the country a particular place is. - I'm sorry you felt that we were reporting you but I'm not sure to who or where. He made one comment on my page and I made one comment here, nowhere else, and there is no way that I am under any impression that they are my articles. Take a look at the comment on my talk page below yours, User talk:CambridgeBayWeather#Map of Nunavut. What about using File:Canada location map.svg? It shows the boarders and would make it easy to see where the place is in relationship to the rest of Canada. I think I've more or less completed the rewrite of this section and would like a second pair of eyes on it. It replaces the two list-like sections that existed before, and now has non-blog citations for all the casting comments that were made. Fritzpoll (talk) 12:21, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Its looking a little better, funnily enough I was only thinking about that articles earlier and was going to ask how it was going. Would be usful to find some production notes on it though. Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:24, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Heh, one section at a time! Frasier#Production will be rewritten soon! So far, beyond reorganising the article, I've only rewritten the Cast section Fritzpoll (talk) 12:28, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Argh! This page has some pretty detailed info, but isn't a reliable source - I've now spend £5.71 buying a used copy of the official companion ook to the series in order to get some notes. Fritzpoll (talk) 13:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Have you looked on Amazon to see if you can get hold of a cheaper copy of a Frasier guide? Sounds good anyway. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:23, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Delivery was free on this one, so it's all swings and roundabouts. Currently searching for interviews/transcripts, etc. Fritzpoll (talk) 13:28, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Cool. There might actually be something video related on it, the making of Frasier etc, behind the scenes dcoumentaries. Perhaps a DVD has it on a special features. I know I found the DVD behind the scenes videos immensely beneficial to thr FAs and GAs we have on Bond. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:33, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- I have the first three series on DVD, but I'd like to find online transcripts. Are they acceptable sources for an FA article, do you think? Bearing in mind that I'll have few other possibilities for sourcing...? Fritzpoll (talk) 13:44, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Providing the transcipts are "official" and from a reliable site. The main problem is indeed finding reliable and detailed sources for articles like this, like with Bollywood the greatest content on the web is on fan related sites which are little more than blogs, with little professional credentials. Perhaps you might even think about emailing the production company. It might seem unusual to you but I wouldn't be at all surpised if you could get through to the producers by email and say you are writing an encyclopedia article on the series, could you please send by some information on production behind the scenes etc. Obviously there will be limits to how intimate the details they give you but I would think it likely they would be willing to help you especially as its wikipedia and it is providing information on "their series" in the media. A lot of organisations I'm sure would see providing information about their products on wikipedia as a positive thing. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:51, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Good thought - but what if I used the transcripts for the details, but cited the featurettes themselves (that is, the DVD extras) as the source? Fritzpoll (talk)
If they are cited in the DVD and you are sure the online transcripts are completely accurate and reliable I would go with that as for sure unreliable websites would be pounced on at FA. It is the primary source anyway, so go for that. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:25, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

- What about one of File:Nunavut Qikiqtaaluk Region.png, File:Nunavut Kivalliq Region.png or File:Nunavut Kitikmeot Region.png? If the wording was removed and one colour, probably yellow but the light green and white similar to the southern Canada maps that you made, might work, especially if the overlay of North America could be added. Having said that I really not sure as to how it could be done and don't have the tools to do it. If that was possible then all of the Canadian locater maps could be the same. - Yeah, I tried doing Costa Rican politicians, but a lot of them were colonial figures with esoteric titles neither I nor my boyfriend (who's from Spain) could figure out, so it got kind of boring. I think artists might be more fun. (Though I'd have to see how that vocabulary goes. Many art words seem to be cognates, but maybe I'd run into trouble.) I agree that we need to figure out how to do outreach and get more people involved in translation. I was thinking maybe of setting up pages like Wikipedia:Translation/Spanish for big languages, then spamming the people who are signed up (via userboxes) as translators, informing them of the new system. Maybe the talk pages (like Wikipedia talk:Translation/Spanish) could be a central place to ask for help with translation questions. Really the best place for editors would be all the people who are learning English throughout the world. (It's much better education to translate into a language you're learning than out of it.) Somehow if we could harness them as translators, we'd have an amazing army! Maybe I can ask my boyfriend's roommate (language and history teacher here in Cambridge, originally from Puerto Rico) if he knows any teachers back home that would be interested in such a project. BTW don't sweat the folks on ANI. As between these stubs and the tiny village stubs, I'd take (and I'm sure they'd take) these any day! :) Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, that's a lot of work to do! Just noticed this page, also would be a good one to start stubs for. Hopefully in a few days I can start doing mass messaging for people who are signed up as translators, and perhaps for people who indicate they speak Spanish etc. I agree it's silly for people to criticize stub creation. When people say you're making work for others, that's simply false. The work has been there all along, they just didn't know it existed! I see you've fixed José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín, which is good. I did Rafael Ángel García this morning. Oh, and I relisted a modest bot request (automatically supplying the interwiki title parameter for the expand language templates) at WP:BOTREQ, and someone's actually doing it! Yay. I also created {{Expand other language}} for misc translation requests that don't merit their own tags and categories. (I found an old translation request for Papiamento orthology from Papiamento wikipedia, go figure.) I'm done for the day, and probably for a few days, because I have a paper to finish for school. Good luck with all the stub creation! Calliopejen1 (talk) 15:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh wait, i see José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín still isn't so good. It will be on my to-do list for later. Calliopejen1 (talk) 15:08, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- As you may have seen, I haven't left yet... :( I'll do the notifications soon. I'd like to have all the infrastructure in place first perfectly, though. Can you help clear out Category:Wikipedia featured articles in other languages? This project was kind of stupid, because they weren't discerning at all in what they tagged. For instance, why on earth should we be translating United Kingdom from Tamil? Most of the tags I'm just removing. some i'm replacing with our expand tags. When I do that I'm adding (or meaning to add) the parameter fa=yes so that they go into the respective FA categories. Calliopejen1 (talk) 16:17, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know if we should just remove them all. I guess we could ask on VP once the shitstorm dies down. I guess normally I wouldn't want to just dismantle a whole project like this, but it pretty much sucks and has no point. I think it will take longer to go through and evaluate all the ones currently tagged than starting from scratch with a list of FAs in other languages. Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:51, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I've suggested the bot removal of the FAOL tags at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Bot detagging of Category:Wikipedia featured articles in other languages - a good idea?. Comment there if you'd like. I've come around to your view that sorting through them is more trouble than it's worth. Better just to go to each wiki's list of FAs and start from scratch. New message
Hello Blofeld, I need to ask you a quick question. Kareena Kapoor was recently featured on Filmfare Magazine's annual Power List, where she was the only woman on the list and was ranked at number 10. So far, this is what I am planning to add on her article: "During March 2009, Kapoor became the only woman to be featured on Filmfare Magazine's annual "Power List", a list of the 10 most powerful people of Bollywood." Since there isn't an article for this list like there is for Time 100 & Celebrity 100 [where people can click on the link to see what the list is all about], I was wondering whether adding the "bolded" part of the text was necessary or not. Please let me know what you think. If you have another way of rephrasing the text, please let me know as well. Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:15, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't bolden it. I would put it in italics. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:16, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- LOL.. You misinterpreted my question. I was saying that since not many people know what the list is about, I was wondering if this part of the text [a list of the 10 most powerful people of Bollywood, which I also referred to as the "bolded" part] was necessary to add on Kapoor's article. =D -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:23, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Doesn't need boldening. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:25, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Mass-production of low-quality one-liners
I seriously question the usefulness of what you are doing in producing all these "articles" with nearly no content, or in the whole idea of translating articles of usually low quality from other Wikipedias rather than aiming at getting better and referenced articles from the outset. As the discussion linked above seems to have been closed, I am going to raise the issue at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy). --Hegvald (talk) 18:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Seriously disagreed with both opinion and disrespectful attitude. Everybody does whatever they can. Not everybody has expertise, desire or boldness to write articles about Geroge Bush or pornstars or pokemon. "Nearly no content" is better than no content. Writing new articles is a way better attitude than raking tens of thousands of edit counts with semiautomated tools. Dr. Blofeld, if ever someone starts bugging you at serious forums, please let me know. I don't want to waste time on a single opponent, but I will say a word or two in general discussion. - 7-bubёn >t 00:34, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Lithuanian bios
In response to you message in my talk page I translated one page, Liudas Vilimas. However, please know that while working on lithuanian surnames and bios I noticed that the threshold of nonability in Lithuanian encyclopedia is rather different from that of the English one. And this is quite reasonable when comparing the numbers of Anglophone and Lithuanian populations (kind of 100x). Hovewer you must pay attention to notability/verifiabilty while porting bios from lt: into en:. May I suggest you to do quick google checks. Otherwise the pages you created will be easy prey for AfD: deletionism and perfectionism is on the rise, for better or worth. - 7-bubёn >t 00:43, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Uh, I did do google checks, there were a number I didn't start from lithuanian wiki. Yes I can see that the Lithuanian encyclopedia look *very* detailed. Usually though if an artist has had works displayed in a national museum or gallery or has beenn involved internationally also this is a criteria for notability of artists. I ignored the ones I felt were not suitable for english wikipedia but as I say I don't understand Lithuanian so it was difficult to judge from initial content. My advice? Don't worry about it. There will always be critics, and there's nothing you can do about it. But as long as the majority on here agree with what you're doing, I see no reason to discontinue it.
Anyhow, here's what I've been working on for the past few days: Locust Grove (Dillwyn, Virginia). My great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather's house. I have a couple of photos to add in a bit. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 14:49, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah - like I told you, two of mine were speedy-tagged yesterday. One was kept; I had to reconstruct the other. I know it's frustrating, but like I said - don't worry about it.
- Re: the house - I'm actually surprised by how little information is available online. Usually Virginia's NRHP nominations are a bit more extensive. I don't know much more than what's in the article; I assume it's 18th century because presumably Peter built it, and he wasn't even here before 1765. It's been very nicely restored; I have a photograph of what it looked like before, too. An absolute wreck. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 15:37, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey
Please see this discussion, Blof. It's very important. Shahid • Talk2me 16:33, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying, but what completely strikes me as odd is what Yobmod said. He says he wants to know if generally FU images are permitted in BLPs or not because too many FAs like Diane Keaton and Cillian Murphy use them, and I don't know if I got it right, but does he actually suggests to take them all (or just Zinta) to FAR to get a broader number of opinions??? Shahid • Talk2me 16:50, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- As I said, I also agree with that claim that we must have consistency. It's not the problem now though, the FAC was promoted with all these images being included and with BK's oppose standing there for Raul and Sandy to see, so either all the images remained or removed. The problem is the inclusion of FU images in FACs in general, and I don't know if I got it right, but does he actually suggests to take them all (or just Zinta) to FAR to get a broader number of opinions??? Shahid • Talk2me 16:57, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- So what do you think? Did I get it right or he really intends to take them all to FAR? He says:
- "I don't want this article to be demoted, just find out what consensus is... RfC maybe less drama, but i think a FAR is more likely to get input from a wider variety of people. I found this article from the Tolkien FAR, which has similar issues, and seems to be being opposed based on the images..."
- What does he suggest? Shahid • Talk2me 17:17, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't know how active I'm going to be able to be today - the internet in the office is having some issues, so we'll see how it ends up working out. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 14:58, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

- OK - it took a little while, but I think I've figured a way of doing this. What I don't finish tonight I'll finish tomorrow. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 04:21, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Re expansion of LT painter articles
Hello Dr B. I have mixed feelings about this. I guess I would prefer not to see any more. Sorry. Lack of time, and I work kind of slowly - would like to think that it's because I feel the need to either vet them myself or AGF of an editor I know well. The LT project is in general short on resources...but maybe someday the stubs will get filled out. If I have any image upload questions, can I turn to you? Novickas (talk) 16:20, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Kathmandu
Hi there. You have contributed to Nepal-related articles. Have you been to Kathmandu? 202.79.40.131 (talk) 16:59, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately no. I think it is one of the most beautiful countries on earth, Bhutan also from what I've seen in pictures. I am just putting these places on the map hoping that people in Nepal such as yourself can expand all of the VDC articles!! Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:44, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hopefully you will come to Nepal someday. Unfortunately, I don't edit Nepal-related articles! If you look at my contributions of my main account, you will not believe that I am from Nepal. I am more interested in what is going on the other side of the earth. Here in Kathmandu we have 1.5 million people. Most of them are young and English Wikipedia is becaoming quite popular. Two years ago, not many people used Wikipedia. Now most college going people use it for various purpose. Thanks you very much for you comment :) 202.79.40.131 (talk) 17:59, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
