Private Life

There is nothing about his private life? His private life is his but there's suddenly whispers online he's married to a woman 15 years his senior and he's closet gay. Some facts here would help dispel the rumours.

"The" National Anthem

I just think care should be taken to wholly describe the anthem which he sang. "The" National anthem indicates a lack of impartiality on behalf of the writer. A small point but a point none the less.

Request for Page Protection

Could this article please be protected. The article is being continually vandalised by both 124.186.94.176 and The Kreator to such an extent that I am not able to keep up with reverting their vandalism. Figaro (talk) 12:23, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The proper procedure is to put warnings on their Talk pages, and then after appropriate warnings, to block their accounts. Softlavender (talk) 04:19, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction Change

The introduction states that he is "known mostly for his roles in several major Hollywood films, including Paperback Hero and X-Men." Paperback Hero is not a major Hollywood film, and he is not well known for it. I feel like it should be removed and replaced with Van Helsing probably160.84.254.241 (talk) 20:48, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hugh Jackman in Viva Laughlin

The page refers to Hugh Jackman and his wife being 'shocked and saddened by this cancellation' of Viva Laughlin. In the interview I saw and news stories I cannot find that reference, his wife said the couple was 'very disapointed', see numerous news references such as: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/10/24/arts/AS-A-E-TV-Australia-Viva-Laughlin-Canceled.php

Should this be changed to reflect that without any evidence of the current statement?

  • That sentence has been deleted. There is no reason to mention it, as it goes without saying they were not overjoyed about the cancellation. We don't put such sentences every time an actor loses a part or an award or every time a television series gets cancelled. Softlavender (talk) 04:17, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major Cleanup done

I just did a major cleanup, organizing things properly and removing editorializing and wordiness. Note: I didn't know where to put the "Sexiest Man Alive" announcement, so I put it after Australia in the Career section, and also put it in the new "Mentions in popular culture" section (which I had to make for the Scrubs info). Frankly, I think the Scrubs info is silly and in my opinion should be deleted from the article, but I'll let someone else do that, as I don't want to be accused of removing actual information. Early Life needs citations

A lot of the info in the "Early life" section needs citations, especially the service station claim, the Christian workcamp claim, and the working as a clown claim. Unsourced information may be removed, especially if it lacks any relevancy. Softlavender (talk)

The early life stuff on service station, Christian workcamp and working as a clown was all correct. I grew up with Hugh and did all of these things with him. (125.63.170.98 (talk) 14:24, 13 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Filmography: 007: The Series ???

I don't know anything about a James Bond series. That's nonsense. According to IMDb his current projects are "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" and "Drive". Please remove this entry. I tried to edit but I'm not so familiar with Wikipedia and with this kind of a table. 77.20.155.151 (talk) 20:54, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Career

Can we consolidate the career section? Dividing the section by each movie he does seems wierd, especially given the shortness of the sections. We can read paragraphs, we don't need separate sections. That said, it needs to be further samarazied. It's too long.--RossF18 (talk) 15:25, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I agree. I think that there is too much information about his movies, I think it needs to be cut down a little. The fountain, for example, could be a few sentences shorter. There is also mention of how many times he's worked with different actors, I don't think that's necessary information. --82.81.123.247 (talk) 12:58, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hugh Jackman as Host of the Oscars (well done! Mr. Jackman)

Hugh Jackman did a great job as the host of the Oscars! Well done, Mr. Jackman. I look forward to seeing you again next year as the host of the Oscars. You struck a nice balance of showmanship and efficient deck manager. I have thought for a long time that the Oscars should have a more classy host, like a solid actor and great song and dance man. signed John Nesbitt, Jacksonville, Fla,71.199.241.41 (talk) 23:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your accolade would be shared by many. However, this page is for discussion of the content of Hugh Jackman's Wikipedia article, not a general discussion forum about him. Thanks. -- JackofOz (talk) 23:25, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Porn movies?

I heard that he used to play some adult productions during his very early career. Do someone knows something more?
