Dr. Ken Jeong (born 1969),[citation needed] M.D., sometimes referred to as "Dr. Ken," is a Korean-American comedian, actor, and former physician. He is known for incorporating his medical knowledge into his comedy.

Life and career

Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong[citation needed] is the son of Korean immigrants. His father, DK Jeong, was a professor at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina for 35 years. He attended Walter Hines Page High School in Greensboro, where he took part in the High IQ team, played violin in the orchestra and was elected to student council. He graduated at 16 and his achievements earned him Greensboro’s Youth of the Year award.[1] He completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University and attained his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans while developing his stand-up comedy.[2] His big break came when he won the Big Easy Laff-Off, of which NBC president Brandon Tartikoff and Improv founder Budd Friedman were judges. They both urged Jeong to move to Los Angeles, and he began performing regularly at the Improv and Laugh Factory comedy clubs.

Jeong's background in theater and improv has led to several television appearances, including NBC's The Office, BET's ComicView, HBO's Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Jeong had supporting roles in the comedy films Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, Role Models, All About Steve, The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, and The Hangover.

Personal life

Jeong has a wife named Tran who is also a doctor. Together, they have twin daughters, Alexa and Zooey.[citation needed]

Jeong openly discussed in an interview with Adam Corolla that he has a small penis, following his appearance in the Hangover in which he did a scene involving full-frontal nudity.[3]
