Other locations will include Los Angeles, London, Paris, Tangier and Calgary.[11] Principal photography for the film began on July 13, 2009.[12] On July 15, 2009, filming took place at University College London library. The signage of the library was altered to French to imitate a bibliotheque.[13] On August 17, 2009, filming took place around the Pont de Bir-Hakeim, a bridge that crosses the Seine River in Paris, France.[14][15] Filming also took place in Morocco on Monday, August 24, 2009.[16] Filming in Los Angeles started September 27, 2009.

Inception will be released in both conventional and IMAX theaters[17] on July 16, 2010.[18]

Marketing

The film's teaser trailer premiered August 21, 2009 with the film Inglourious Basterds. Viral marketing began on December 15, 2009 when a top depicted on the official website stopped spinning. The poster was awarded as a prize after players won an online mini-game titled "Mind Crime".[19][20]

A second poster was found on December 21st, 2009, although it is speculated that the poster has been out since December 15th, 2009, no one officially found it until the 21st.[citation needed] The second poster was also rewarded to winners of the "Mind Crime" game.

The second trailer premiered December 25, 2009 with the film Sherlock Holmes, and is now available online in HD.[21]
