Block message:

{{blocked proxy}} <!-- 1080 -->

Decline reason: See below. Mangojuicetalk 00:47, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This IP has recently been confirmed by ProcseeBot to allow anonymous proxy access to Wikipedia. Please explain why you must access Wikipedia through open proxies, or if there is some kind of mistake, please explain. Mangojuicetalk 16:00, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes, IPs assigned by your ISP may have open proxies on them. From the WHOIS, this IP address seems assigned to multiple businesses so there could be something beyond your control here. I'm going to grant you IP block exemption to solve the problem.

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Mangojuicetalk 11:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stamp images listed for deletion

Eight image or media files that you uploaded have been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) 13:08, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I wanted to explain why I used rollback on your edit (and apologise for it). When I first saw the edit I thought it was a bungled attempt by a new user to add a new reference. I know that isn't what rollback's for either; I reached for it without thinking and instantly regreted it. Looking properly I get what you were doing, but when I tried to check the article given it was behind a pay barrier; does it really mention such a specific detail about the flight in question as "This [incorrect debris location reports] led to the mobilization of an Indonesian Air Force plane carrying hundreds of search and rescue personnel"? All the other sources I saw when Garuda were unbanned gave at best passing mentions of Adam Air, but then I didn't read all of them. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 19:01, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The problem was the link is used in two places. One of them just repeats the simple fact that it had vanished, and almost any link will do, but the other one is used for the quote above and is very spefific. It is done by giving the link a name the first time it is used and then repeating the name when you want to use it again. Wsj sure asked me to subsribe; maybe it is a geolocation thing? I am in Poland right now; are you in the states? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 19:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:DEADLINK, we shouldn't simply delete a link that is dead. I do have some sympathy however; heaven knows where we might find something that cited the second fact mentioned. I guess we try as it says and use the archive stuff and whatnot. There are over a dozen deadlinks in that article and someone (probably me sometime) should really settle down with a beer and fix as man as possible at once. Invitation to Wiki Academy Mangalore

User:Prashanthns/Invitation

Mangalore Ranga Pai

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Mangalore Ranga Pai requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnDoe0007 (talk) 11:00, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cite templates not required

(Copied from User talk:Fnlayson)

I noticed you have reverted the cite templates someone had put up at the Boeing 747 site. I thought we were supposed to have these. And man, I have painfully added those in the past to articles. So it is no longer required then, just the short version is enough?--PremKudvaTalk 06:40, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cite templates are not required, only suggested (see WP:CITE). I posted about this at Talk:Boeing 747. We have consistently formatted the references manually throughout that article. If other articles consistently use cite templates, that's alright too. -Fnlayson (talk) 12:34, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Premkudva! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 198 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Tavleen Singh - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

A tag has been placed on File:Shashitharoor001.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article The Sky Is Falling (2001 novel) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable book by notable writer; grossly fails WP:PLOT

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Edit Summaries

Hi Premkudva,
Do you thnk you could give consideration to using an edit summary more often? This graph link shows your usage is only at about 80% for major edits. It would help other editors know what your edits are for. Regards, --220.101.28.25 (talk) 14:44, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately I keep forgetting 80% of the time. It is not that I don't want to.--PremKudvaTalk 04:02, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contribution to Air India Express Flight 812, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember that Wikipedia is a widely-used reference tool, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the sandbox to get started. Thank you.

Yes of course, thank you for your kind advice learned sir. Especially from one who has not learnt to sign his comments and feels it fit to adds reams of reactions into a encyclopaedia page!--PremKudvaTalk 05:03, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You had said : Removed Controversy in selection process section, Add it only when you have more detailed information. Current information is too sketchy

But i don't see anything wrong and DNA and WSJ had reported the same and they reported against proofs.. so your deletion is inappropriate. While googling i found http://www.saveindianrupeesymbol.org which have got all supporting RTI documents.

File source problem with File:DalrympleWilliam20070629.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:DalrympleWilliam20070629.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:42, 27 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. شرف الدين (talk) 10:42, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
