Biography
Jessica was born in San Francisco, California on April 18, 1989.
She auditioned at the SM Casting System and joined the company in 2000.[1] She was trained at SM Entertainment for 7 years and 6 months.[citation needed] Jessica is a 2007 graduate of Korea Kent Foreign School.[citation needed] As she was born and raised in the United States, Jessica can speak Korean and English fluently.
Her younger sister, Krystal Jung, is a member and one of the lead vocalists of girl group f(x).
Career
Girls' Generation
Jessica was a founding member of the group Girls' Generation which debuted on August 5, 2007.
Solo activities
In addition to her group activities, Jessica released two singles alongside with Seohyun and Tiffany: Korean: "오빠 나빠" ("Oppa Nappa", "Bad Older Brother")[2] and "Mabinogi (It's Fantastic!)".[3] In May 2008, she with fellow members Tiffany and Yoona and DBSK had a commercial for an upcoming CF for Haptic Motion.
In addition, she had various duets — one with Shinee member, Onew, called "One Year Later", and one with Park Myeong-su, "Naengmyeon".
She also sang the "Seoul Song" with Super Junior's Leeteuk, Sungmin, Donghae, Siwon, and Kyuhyun and fellow group members Taeyeon, Sunny, Sooyoung, and Seohyun. Furthermore, she participated in a music video for Kim Jo-han.
She was also featured in Super Junior-M's music video for the song titled 'Super Girl' which was released on September 14, 2009
Jessica made her musical debut in the Korean production of Legally Blonde: the Musical, alongside Honey Lee and Kim Ji-woo;[4] the production opened on November 14, 2009.[5]
She had a cameo role on SBS Oh My Lady! in March 2010.[6]
In May 2010 Jessica was a member of the show "Happy Birthday" until she withdrew on June 7, 2010 because of Girls' Generation's overseas activities.[7]
