3rd actor?
I'm not clear on this. Is he the #3 actor of all time? If so, is that adjusted for inflation? Or is he the #3 actor currently performing? And is that the gender-neutral "actor" or the male-specific? Essentially, I guess I'm asking, "What the heck does that exactly mean?" --Leodmacleod (talk) 21:00, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Gender neutral, and women earn less anyway, so even on a combined list. Darrenhusted (talk) 15:13, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
LDS Faith
Doctrine taught by any church shouldn't change because of public opinion. God knew from the beginning of time that there would be the movements that are occurring today. He knew that proposition 8 would happen, and bring the controversy it would.
You know a church is wrong, if they change eternal doctrine, so satisfy public opinion. I know Tom Hanks PR probably told him to apologize for his comments, but why do so many people think that a church could, or would change doctrine, on a whim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.100.198.38 (talk) 02:04, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- How is this in any way related to article improvements? Wildhartlivie (talk) 02:41, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- So we know that the Morman Church and all the others are wrong because they stopped calling inter-racial marriage a sin, right? Say listen buddy, whatever! Greg Bard 20:02, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Vandalism
I reverted some IP who tried to state that Hanks died in a helicopter crash. I did it a bit clumsily because the Wiki servers gave me 'busy' messages. --StaniStani 23:21, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Picture... Awful.
The picture for the infobox is awful... Tom Hanks looks like he's about to start sobbing. The picture would be okay if he was a generally weepy guy, but he's not. Is there a better pic we can use? --- cymru lass (hit me up)⁄(background check) 03:07, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Aston Villa
Hanks confirmed his affiliation with the club in an interview with Jonathan Ross in May 2009, citing his public like for the name as the reason why the media portray him as an Aston Villa fan.
This is very poor English.
It should read: 'Hanks confirmed his affiliation with the club in an interview with Jonathan Ross, adding that he welcomed the media's reference to him as an Aston Villa fan' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Honeypumpkin (talk • contribs) 13:00, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
The Burbs?
The Burbs was a box office failure? It grossed 11,000,000 in its first week. It is a classic. Who is writing this stuff? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.205.54.4 (talk) 02:08, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- How much did it cost to make?--Bbb23 (talk) 02:20, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Well according to "The Burbs" on Wikipedia, "The film opened at number 1 with $11,101,197 in its opening weekend (2/17-20).[4] Overall, in the US, the film made $36,601,993 and $49,101,993 worldwide.[5]" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.205.54.4 (talk) 20:24, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Done--Bbb23 (talk) 00:59, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Under the 1996 to Present section the following: "Hanks' next endeavor, released on May 15, 2009, was a film adaptation of Angels & Demons, Dan Brown's prequel to The Da Vinci Code" should be edited to "Hanks' next endeavor, released on May 15, 2009, was a film adaptation of Angels & Demons, also written by Dan Brown."
The reason for the change is because it is factual erroneous to call Angels and Demons the prequel, because it was written before The DaVinci Code(Angels and Demons was released in 2001 whereas The DaVinci Code was released in 2003), making The DaVinci code a sequel (a prequel implies it was written after, but the story takes place before). While the movie Angels and Demons may have been a prequel because The DaVinci Code movie was released first, in the above quotation, the article is referring to the books, which makes the information incorrect. If Angels and Demons is going to be referred to as a prequel, it should be made clear the article is referencing the movie franchise, not the books. 24.234.191.181 (talk) 17:27, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- This makes complete sense to me. Thanks! Qwyrxian (talk) 00:48, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Me, too, and I tweaked your change without realizing you'd even made a change or updated this section. I changed above to Done.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:59, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
