Welcome

How kind to "Welcome" me! I will absolutely study and contribute to the best of my ability with these links, as many will come in handy! There will certainly be questions that will be in need of an answer, so my hope is that you will not mind if a few were directed towards your knowledge with Wikipedia. Thank you! ElizabethCB123 (talk) 15:30, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
If you know the current location, it is rather impressive- On "Club Row". However it began at a different location. I have been looking through old photos yet cannot find one suitable for inclusion. I could use some assistance on this or any other information concerning this 226 year old institution. Thank you! ElizabethCB123 (talk) 05:08, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Can a High School Yearbook be used as a "Reference"?
Hi Beth, I just wanted to let you know that your question was moved here.[1] Cheers. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 18:13, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Thank you! I agree having a context would be helpful. Seems as if the opinions are all over the place, yet lean to likely "no". Any additional thoughts? ElizabethCB123 (talk) 03:20, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
College year book
Saw your yearbook question and thought that Richard Leroy Walters might be a relevant example of how a college yearbook might be used. A high school yearbook could probably be used similarly. I'm not so sure that it is a primary source, or a secondary one, (there can be a gray area), but just identifying the source in the text would help. Smallbones (talk) 19:06, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Dear Smallbones- Thank you for your entry! I have looked at a number of yearbooks since posing this question- And my conclusion is that not all are created equal when there is no publishing company noted or means of verifying information. I agree it is a "Grey Area", yet might come in handy when in need of a supportive foundation for making a point. Your example is a great one. Very much appreciated. Dear Smallbones- Your "User Page" is extremely helpful to others. (and interesting too!) Thank you! ElizabethCB123 (talk) 00:04, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

"Most Artistic Senior"- Marisol Deluna
"One Hundred Years of Excellence- The Story Of The Alamo Heights Independent School District" isbn = 978-1-57864-558-9 by Mary Fisher, Donning Company Publishers, 2009, page 144
"Another graduate with an international reputation, Marisol Deluna '85, became a New York- based fashion designer with ateliers in New York, Paris and Buenos Aires. "I had two art classed my senior year- Art IV and Art V. Carol Ackles created the additional class for me," she recalled, so she could pursue creative projects for her own and for school. "I was exempt from my other classes when I needed to work on these projects, provided I could maintain my GPA, which I did," added Deluna, voted "Most Artistic Senior" the year she graduated."
I located another article stating this recognition from a 1985 local newspaper notation and will add it when the "Full Citation" is sent to me. Thank you! ElizabethCB123 (talk) 17:27, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
"Howard Playground Improvement Project"- Marisol Deluna
"One Hundred Years of Excellence- The Story Of The Alamo Heights Independent School District" isbn = 978-1-57864-558-9 by Mary Fisher, Donning Company Publishers, 2009, page 125
"Sisters Marisol Deluna, class of 1985, and Linda Luna Duffy, class of 1976, pose (referring to a photo in this book) at Howard Early Childhood Center where Duffy teaches. Duffy was named the district's first Texas State Teacher of the Year in 2001. Deluna, a New York- based fashion designer, models a scarf she designed as a fundraiser for Howard's Playground improvement project in honor of Duffy's award. Both were students at Howard." Edit War and Spam Inclusions
Elizabeth, it is considered "spam" when you attempt to insert information into articles that don't merit it. You broke the 3RR rule by reversing an edit of mine 3 times without providing an acceptable citation why. I've noticed there is an ongoing concerted effort by you and other editors (who I believe to be the same person) to insert the name "Marisol Deluna" into as many articles as possible wether it merits inclusion or not. I've also noticed you are attempting to reverse all edits done by others in which they removed her name from articles in which she does not belong. I am bringing this up to admistrators attention. For the record, promotional material, small mentions, and Delunas personal website are NoT acceptable as proof of notability. 208.54.86.130 (talk) 16:18, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
I did not include her originally in the articles you claim she does not belong on so there is no "conflict of interest", yet am in the belief that she should be included as this is what I have been doing by using references. Merit is not based on who is most famous or household names. As for the suggestion to view her website, it is merely to educate- Not to be used as a reference as I did not post it.
If you would like this to be directed to a supervising editor, please do. As for other editors, I logged on as the IP Address shown on our recent reversal edits. This appears to be between you and I. As for explaining my edits, I did. Both references are sufficient enough for her inclusion. Having used MSN is a reference with other hispanic women notes her notability. The Hyundai link is not "promotional" by Marisol Deluna yet rather Hyundai. She does not design cars to the best of my knowledge. (That was a joke) Wikipedia is about education. I respect your opinion and am not going to quarrel. Thank you. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 16:35, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
I am sending this information to an Administrator. Not having been on Wikipedia for a stint- This seems to be an ongoing issue of concern. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 17:00, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- The issue must be discussed at Talk:Textile. Per WP:EW, anyone engaging in an edit war (whether "right" or "wrong") may be blocked to prevent disruption. Instead, add a new section at the article talk page (not a user talk page), and explain why the material should be included, or should be removed. Johnuniq (talk) 07:25, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Excellent Contribution
Thank you for improving the article on Marisol Deluna. Looking at your contributions, it looks like you're doing a great job of editing this article at a time when many of us want to learn more about this private and accomplished individual. LegalEagleUSA (talk) 02:37, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, yet I am simply a Wiki editor with an interest to improve all articles I edit and will in time contribute more to her page and many of my other interests. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 07:43, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
LegalEagleUSA (talk)- Please do not get me involved in disputes with other editors. I am not passing judgement, yet your postings can be a bit brash and protective. (which I appreciate as a woman) Yet I have heard her lecture and she is a strong woman who is married to an attorney as per the New York Times! Regardless, please edit wisely. Conflict of interest ?
The lady doth protest too much, methinks Hamlet Act 3, scene 2 Mtking (edits) 05:43, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
No simply passionate. In fact, I have just begun editing another article to cool off. Every time I have tried to edit Marisol Deluna, I get road blocked. The information I added this evening was merely meant to assist, not reverse your edits. Thank you for asking, yet no. Just an admirer of both her charitable work and designs. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 05:49, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
I just read your Hamlet link. No. I decided to phone today after this weekend's battle with another editor. I spoke to her assistant who told me just enough to comment on the noticeboard. Her studio number is public however Marisol was said to be traveling. No worries. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 05:54, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Well saying "I have just learned by calling her design studio in New York" at a little after midnight (if my timezone calc's are correct) and then listing personal details that are very unlikely to be divulged by a co-worker does look highly suspicious is all I am saying. Mtking (edits) 05:56, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
It is nearly 2am est. I phoned earlier today during business hours. As for her assistant, she kept it vague and to the point AFTER I told her about my issues with a few editors from Texas when trying to edit. I neither want to get the young lady in trouble nor myself be sought for being liable. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 06:08, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- It was just after midnight when you made the post linked to above, and a little after 5pm when you opened the thread, strange that you chose not to mention your phone call then ?Mtking (edits) 06:48, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
I processed the information and have priorities far more time consuming than Wikipedia. There is absolutely nothing strange about it. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 15:12, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
I advise you to read the no legal threats policy as this edit comes very very close to one and other editors and administrators might read it as one. Mtking (edits) 06:48, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
I apologize. I will remove it. Thank you. ElizabethCB123 (talk) 15:23, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you! I have to say, you have been taking your fair share of punches. I truly believe that if this article gets deleted, it is due to something beyond her merit. Being a relatively new editor, I have been around long enough in life to know that unhappy people thrive to bring down others. I hope we can continue building this article or if needed, bring back her inclusion at a future date if it is meant to be. Beth ElizabethCB123 (talk) 00:07, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
