LewRockwell.com
Appearance
LewRockwell.com (LRC) is a libertarian web magazine run by Lew Rockwell. The site is known for espousing free market economics, opposition to war and imperialism, and occasional articles criticizing the presidency of Abraham Lincoln [1]. The site also features essays that include arguments against the United States's participation in the Second World War [2], speculation about an end of the United States as a cohesive nation [3], and accusations of fascism on the part of countries often considered free [4]. It is read by one out of 4,000 Alexa users daily. [5]
Criticism
Tom G. Palmer of the Cato Institute [6] has criticized the blog for carrying columns by controversial figures including:
- Joe Sobran, whom Palmer notes was accused of anti-Semitism by William F. Buckley [7] and who has associated with the Institute for Historical Review (an organization that promotes Holocaust revisionism)
- Gary North, who has called for the stoning of homosexuals and women who promote the use of abortions [8]
- Sam Francis, who led the Council of Conservative Citizens (which according to Palmer's evidence is closely connected to the Ku Klux Klan[9]).
