Requests for registration
Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.
Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
Please add your name to the bottom of the list using *
. Enter your user name exactly as it is, do not add underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter.
{{AWBUser|your username}}
~~~~~
If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please add
to the top of this page.
{{Admin backlog}}
Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage.
- Not done at this time due to some concerns that are still being expressed. Please consider reapplying in a few weeks when your talk page demonstrates that you are more familiar with policies and/or formatting processes. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:22, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- I don't understand. Can you elaborate for me? What do I need to do to be reconsidered? Allen (talk) 20:45, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- Too many recent concerns expressed on your talk page page give me pause. - AWB is a powerful tool. If you can demonstrate a clear history of error-free formatting over the next few hundred edits etc., I'll be happy to reconsider. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:39, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Not done. You have fewer than 500 edits to mainspace. That said, you have only made 160 edits to Wikipedia in the last six months. I would like to see some significant regular editing that demonstrates a need for this tool in areas where it is appropriate. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:45, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- mrjohncummings (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) 21:17, 25 January 2012 (UTC) Need it for using CatScan to compile large galleries for my Monmouthpedia project
- Adding original request back that was mistakenly archived by KingpinBot (as far as I can see without approval or disapproval) here. I also left a message about this on the bot's talk page. Jane (talk) 11:48, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- Mrjohncummings, you have less than 250 mainspace edits. Why do you want AWB access? Wifione Message 17:45, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- John is leading MonmouthpediA. As such, he travelled from Wales to Amsterdam for GLAMcamp 2011- clearly demonstrating commitment to the project. As he explains above, he will use AWB to analyse related categories. I support his application. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:32, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
- Only 245 edits to main space, we expect about double that number of non automated edits. What do you want to do with the tool? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:15, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
As you can see, I am currently using WikiCleaner to fix errors and typos on Wikipedia. I would benefit from using this tool to semi automatically fix more errors and basic typos on the articles. Regards, Wikih101 (talk) 20:53, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- Would you be open to waiting till you reach 500 edits? It might give you a better understanding of various editing issues. Wifione Message 17:43, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- I would prefer using AWB even before reaching the 500 edits because every time I get onto Wikipedia, I always see many typographic errors and is very tedious to manually correct them every time. Thank you for your understanding and I hope you could approve me, Wikih101 (talk) 23:59, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- Wikih101 seems to have popped over the 500 limit in a big way, but with huge automation assist. I like to see at least 400 non automated edits that show that thought has happened, rather than a video game button press. Will someone else consider granting the entry? - You only waited six hours after your previous request was archived. I don't necessarily agree with Graeme's reasoning, but they pretty clearly told you to wait a week, and you failing to mention your previous request or talk to Graeme about this looks rather like admin shopping. What's the rush? - Kingpin13 (talk) 17:52, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- Well the good news is that the request is formatted correctly now. My concern was that things may go similarly wrong with AWB use. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:18, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
