Rollback

(add requestview requests)

I have been using twinkle for experience, now I'm thinking of building a Bot. But I only have over a month experience in English Wikipedia. I'm also active in Malayalam Wikipedia. I have about 616 edits in total in all Wikipedia's, I joined 43 days ago. I'm active on 30 project sites. /\ talk← Aviyal →Policy) /\ 21:57, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, folks. I've worked on removing vandalism from the project for some time; with recent changes patrols, AIV reports, new page patrols, etc. I think it's a good time to take advantage of the rollback tool for some further good. It will render itself useful especially with some of the anti-vandal tools that require it. NTox · talk 12:24, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting larger cases of vandalism, (E.G. 4+ cases of vandalism in one article by one user) one edit at a time can be time consuming and causes my efficiency to drop. I am also interested in using other anti-vandalism tools, such as Huggle (Rollback feature is a requirement in this case). I have been editing Wikipedia frequently for about 15-18 months. I enjoy reading and editing Wikipedia, and just recently (about one month ago), I started reverting vandalism on a larger scale (around 300-400 of my edits in the past month have contributed to the reduction of vandalism.) I have been patrolling the recent changes and reverting vandalism, but I need an easy way to revert vandalism quickly so I can revert more vandalism. Agent 78787 talk contribs 02:08, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I request the rollback feature to be able to deal with vandalism more easily. I mainly work at the Estonian Wikipedia, where I'm an administrator as well, but occasionally spend some time watching over recent changes on other wikipedias, especially the English one. It is required to use Huggle. I was suggest to it after using STiki to fight vandalism, carefully I might add, with its built in rollback as needed. Hoping to use Huggle to fight vandalism more efficiently. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 01:41, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have had my rights stripped back when I was blocked (which was a couple of weeks ago allowing time for things to cool down), however I have since convinced the community that this block was no longer necessary and demonstrated good faith edits. Kiko4564 (talk) 18:46, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I'm personally minded that we should restore tools to users who have regained confidence; however here I think this is a decision that should not be made by one admin alone. At this risk of increased bureaucracy, I'd recommend either (a) a request to User:PeterSymonds as a steward and the remover of the rights - or perhaps more ideally (b) you flag this at the admins noticeboard linking my comments. Hey there, I've recently got into patrolling new pages and reverting vandalism, and would like to have the Roll Back feature to make things a bit easier. In the past week I've come up against some unconstructive edits which were particularly frustrating to revert, with the additions being made in a series of several edits, directly one after the other. Sometimes after I have an article eventually restored, it is altered again by the same editor who previously vandalised the page, making my job a whole more tedious. Having the Roll Back feature would be a big help, Thanks! Aunty-S (talk) 19:48, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done But with advice (that I will copy to user talk). Edit summaries like this are not useful. Your signature not reflectign your username is less than helpful. Please use the tool wisely or it will be removed. Pedro :  Chat  21:12, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hoping to use huggle for vandal patrolling, and rollback right is required for use. Have been using Twinkle up to now for a few months SkyMachine (++) 21:20, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have used rollback many times on Twinkle, I am sharp on reverting vandalism, I patrol new pages also. I would like to use Huggle that is my primary reason for requesting. JayJayTalk to me 23:34, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Please remember that rollback should only be used in clear cases of vandalism. Swarm X 03:59, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This bot is to replace SoxBot. SoxBot had Rollback rights. —cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 519,754,971) 00:55, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) The operator of the bot has rollback. Armbrust, B.Ed. Let's talkabout my edits? 01:39, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) The bot may not need rollback at all. →Στc. 02:37, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Did SoxBot need rollback to perform its tasks? It doesn't look like it. Unless this bot will have a task that requires rollback, there's no reason to grant it now. Swarm X 03:57, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
