Anonymous Operation, commonly abbreviated as AnonOps, is an Internet hacking group related to Anonymous that claimed responsibility to hacking many prominent websites. The group was originally formed in 2004 as Anonymous was announcing their operation to hack and proclaim websites. Their organization for hacking and trying to proclaim Internet Freedom became huge in 2011 when users on Twitter and Facebook made fan-made accounts to support Anonymous Operations and LulzSec. AnonOps also supported "Occupy" (An Anonymous group) and Anonymous IRC - "We are #Anonymous. We are the #Antisec embassy. Sailing the seven proxeas with our humble fleet. Bitcoins to: 18NHixaoQekQJ3y52aBGJJwgBWX9X3myYR". Anonymous Operations generated more than 1M tweets in the past 3 years with news worthy tweets and Internet freedom tweets and post over via Facebook. This group has been described as "Harmful and trust worthy fighters protesting against government."
Administration
According to a January 2011 interview, Anonymous Operations team then consisted of sixty-four people working full-time and about One hundred thousand people who worked occasionally, none of whom were compensated. Anonymous Operation (AnonOps) has no official headquarters located.
Anonymous IRC
AnonOps supported Anonymous IRC in 2007. Their plan was to hack the world's most common websites.
The most popular channel on the old Anonymous IRC servers now says simply, "anonops dead go home."
