Welcome!

Hello, Jchrist11, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Kevin Dumas, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. Thank you.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. A tag has been placed on Kevin Dumas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. mark nutley (talk) 17:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Nintendo-dsi-xl-teardown-ifixit.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Nintendo-dsi-xl-teardown-ifixit.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:07, 6 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.47.235 (talk) 02:07, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Barack Obama ‎. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 23:58, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Nintendo-dsi-xl-teardown-ifixit.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Project FMF (talk) 06:05, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Shaquille O'Neal, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Your edit added factually incorrect (and unsourced information) and unnecessarily was in bold text. Bagumba (talk) 19:31, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Shaquille O'Neal. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. You need to justify repeating information in a section that is seemingly out of place and unnecessarily putting the text in bold Bagumba (talk) 20:05, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Shaquille O'Neal. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Bagumba (talk) 20:05, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Fred-goodwin-ROYAL-BANK-O-006.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Fred-goodwin-ROYAL-BANK-O-006.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation.Template:Z134 --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:05, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Images you find on the Internet

Please be aware that you can not simply find an image on the Internet somewhere and claim you have rights to that image, as you have done with multiple recent uploads. Most images on the Internet are copyrighted, and not available under a free license. Every image you have uploaded has either been deleted or shortly will be for failing to respect copyright. If you persist in violating copyright, it is likely you will be blocked from editing. If you have questions, ask. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 13:43, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make disruptive edits by blanking out or removing portions of page content, as you did at Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria. Removing huge portions of information requires consensus, which is gathered by discussing your proposed changes on the article's talk page. If your edits continue in this manner, you may be blocked from editing. matt (talk) 14:54, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Pope Shenouda III's Signature.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Pope Shenouda III's Signature.jpg, which you've sourced to Havel's House of History. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:37, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
