I am a graphist and I want to make vector versions of images through the graphics lab. Since my contributions would be limited to image submissions, I won't be able to get the minimum number of edits, I fear, to become confirmed, which I need to be to submit images in the first place HowFalcons (talk) 21:20, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to contribute to wikipedia and make some edits to a semi-protected page, Minecraft#MineCon. I would like to update the section with additional references. I feel that submitting multiple edit requests would be rather tedious to others when I could just update the content myself. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, and then use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you're used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar policies. I originally trained as a medical doctor (Victoria University of Manchester 1963. I became a consultant radiologist and then medical director of a large university hospital. My specialist qualifications are in radiology; I also have an MBA (Open University) and post graduate diplomas in law and legal practice (The College of Law). I am happy to submit either my long or short CV or both if requested.

I have taught medical students post graduates and professions allied to medicine all my professional life. I have lectured to these audiences both nationally and in other countries. I still do in depth research on medical legal and business topics. I find Wikipedia indispensable.

I have not needed a pdf copy of one of your articles for some time; but from time to time I save a pdf copy. For the purposes of research it is important for me to have the copy extant at the time of research not a subsequently edited version. It is not common for me to edit articles as I am researching topics broadly at least initially. I would only consider editing if I discovered a significant error of fact and would not do so for a differing opinion as this is what I will be endeavouring to discover.

I hope you will consider this a legitimate reason for being granted conformed rights.

 Not done If you are involved in research then I suggest you do the research to find out what permissions are for before asking for them as you obviously have not done so in this case. You don't need any permissions of any kind, ever, to make a copy of anything on Wikipedia for your own purposes. That's kind of the whole point of this entire project.
