[edit]Hello, I'm Veera Dheera Sooran. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Veera Dheera Sooran (talk) 10:06, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
Reliable sources and potentially spammy content
[edit]Hi Athul noble, I've noticed that twice you've attempted to wedge in movie reviews from "r4rating.com" at Drishyam, for example here and here. I'm not sure what your angle is, but looking through your edit history, and noticing that you attempted to create an article on r4rating.com, my guess is that you either own or work for/with the company and are trying to legitimize the company by forcing it into various Wikipedia articles. If you own or work for/with the company, then you have a conflict of interest and you should not be editing Wikipedia articles and inserting your promotional content. Spam is garbage, so please stop. The contributions at Drishyam are unnecessary because there are already a number of reviews of the movie, so tacking on a review from your site doesn't improve the article, it just makes the article look like a promotional puff-piece. The r4rating site needs to first establish itself as a reliable source of critical content before the content can be included at Wikipedia. Please read WP:RS. [edit]Hello, I'm Josh3580. I noticed that you recently made an edit to Medulla Oblongata (film) that seemed to be a test. Your test worked! If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —Josh3580talk/hist 07:10, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Okee dokes!
[edit]Hi Athul, since you don't seem receptive to the discussion I started earlier on your talk page, and since you seem insistent upon forcing this "R4 rating by you RATING" r4rating.com website into articles, namely Drishyam as you did after my last reversion here, I've decided to run the site past the Reliable Sources Noticeboard for the community to decide whether or not the site should be included in articles as a reliable source. You're welcome to participate in the discussion here, but if you keep forcing that site into articles to legitimize the website, the community will notice, and you could wind up blocked, and your site could wind up on the Wikipedia blacklist. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:31, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Medulla Oblongata (film). It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Diffs: 2 edits then a resubmission of the same disruptive content. Wikipedia is not a promotional site. Please stop trying to advertise here. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:51, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Drishyam, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Diff: [1] Re-re-re-introduction of unreliable spam website into article. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:37, 5 February 2014 (UTC)

Why my website is considered as spam all others are doing the same.
- Oh, have you decided to participate in a discussion now that you've been blocked? "Other stuff exists" is not a valid argument. The fact that other garbage websites are being spammed into articles doesn't mean that Athul noble gets carte blanche to spam his garbage website into articles. If you are offended by garbage sources, then report the garbage sources. But don't add MORE garbage sources and whine about how unfair it is when yours gets removed. Your behavior is considered spam because you are heavily promoting your website, which doesn't generate any original content, but appears to TAKE from wherever it can, and with no attribution (You've got some really sweet High-Res photos in some of your articles. Did you take those photos yourself?) Your website copied Wikipedia content without attribution here and then you went back to the Wikipedia article and tried to sneak in a "reference" to your copied site, which basically means that a Wikipedia article is using itself as a reference. That's so confusing I don't even know how to explain it to admins. Further, you've done little else here but to promote your website, article after article after article, which I have reverted. Did I answer your question? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:58, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Also, something to consider. There are various other options that can be used to prevent sites from spamming on Wikipedia. If your site continues to be spammed, it will probably be added to the WP:BLACKLIST which will very effectively stop the spamming. Please don't make this step necessary.
