The Mythology Tour is the debut tour by British rock musician and singer-songwriter Barry Gibb, and featuring the Bee Gees anthology set album of the same name.[1]

Background

Gibb has designed this tour October 2012 as a celebration of his brothers Robin and Maurice. Gibb commented about the tour: "I am absolutely thrilled that Australian music lovers have embraced the Mythology Tour so whole-heartedly, given that it’s the country where it all began. I am truly humbled by this response and can’t wait to perform these songs again on home soil.[2] With the start of the tour, Gibb and his wife Linda was unable to attend the Love and Hope Ball.[3]

This tour features his son Steve with Maurice's daughter, Samantha and Beth Cohen as Gibb told Sydney Morning Herald: "As the place where we started so many years ago, we have always viewed Australia as our home so it is only fitting that we will be kicking off our Mythology tour there".[4] By 5 October 2012, tickets for the tour go on sale.[5] The tour began on 8 February 2013 with Gibb's concert in Sydney Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia.[6] For the first time, Gibb covered The Beatles' "The Long and Winding Road", Gibb performs "Kilburn Towers", "Playdown" and "With the Sun in My Eyes".

Gibb chose Audio Vixen to be his support act. While he performs "Spicks and Specks", there was a mini documentary shown on the video screen. On "I've Gotta Get a Message to You", Steve Gibb sang the first verse. On "On Time", Steve also sang the whole song. Maurice's daughter, Samantha joins the band to sing "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart". Barry Gibb sang "I Started a Joke" for the first time with Robin sings the rest of the song on the video screen with the band.[7]

In April 2013, Gibb announced his first solo UK tour and that he would play five dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland between 21 September and 3 October.[8] The UK leg of the Mythology tour was promoted by Stuart Galbraith of Kilimanjaro Live. At the start of 2014, Gibb has spoken of shows in North America.[9]

On the official Gibb's tour facebook page as well as the On Air With Ryan Seacrest, it was announced that the Mythology Tour will be expanded to some performances in USA. It was said it will be around summer of 2014. This news are confirmed. Started at Boston in May 15, 2014.[10]
