Notes
  • The Chiefs traded a conditional third-round selection along with a 2013 selection to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for quarterback Alex Smith; the selection was later upgraded to a second-rounder after a condition was met in which the Chiefs won a minimum of eight games during the 2013 season.
  • The Chiefs acquired an additional sixth-round selection in a trade that sent linebacker Edgar Jones and the team's seventh-round selection to the Dallas Cowboys.
