Yash Dasgupta (Born 10th October 1985) is an Indian actor and model. Dasgupta is best known for his roles in Bojhena Se Bojhena,Na Aana Iss Des Laado among others.
Dasgupta won the Glam King title in the Unish Kuri Streax Glam Hunt (2006) held in Kolkata. He is a new entrant to the Calcutta times most desirable men 2013. He shifted his base to Mumbai to pursue career in acting and joined Roshan Taneja's acting school and got his first break as actor in Television Industry.
Early Life and Background
Dasgupta was born (10th October 1985) to D. K Dasgupta and Jayati Dasgupta. He is an only child, with no siblings. During his early childhood, he travelled all over India due to his parent’s transferrable work .
He has lived in Delhi, Mumbai, Sikkim, parts of Bengal among others. His schooling has been at various places where he travelled during childhood. His interest in acting came from these formative years, when he was fond of extracurricular activities.
Career
Early Career
Dasgupta started his career in selective roles in television. He played a fun loving son as Suraj Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi Bandini (TV series) . A character with grey shades in Ketan Sanghvi,Basera (2009 TV series). The role which has brought him to limelight is in a socially relevant series on female infanticide, as Karan, Na Aana Is Des Laado this nuanced portrayal of a protective brother was appreciated, and created his mark. Yash did episodic roles as Viraj , a Mime Artist in Adaalat. He also enacted Shri Krishna in a mythology called Mahima Shanidev kii . After Adaalat, he was on a lookout for meaty roles. Talking about it, Yash says, "I am looking for good projects, something interesting. I am game for any kind of role. I don't want to be off camera, as in this industry if we actors are not seen, we tend to vanish."
2013 - Present
Searching for that perfect role to challenge him, presently he is the main protagonist in Bojhena se Bojhena (a remake of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?) in Star Jalsha. He is recreating and de-structuring the popular character of ASR. His ASR (Aranya Singha Roy) is a unique portrayal which beautifully showcases his attitude and innocence with a strong body language adding new dimension to the character. His facial expressions, body language and dialogue delivery is applauded by audiences. The Bengali ASR has topped the popularity charts, and is the most popular character in Bengal touching the hearts of 8 to 80 years of age and genders no bar. He is a darling of the youth, which make him a Youth Icon of current time.

Dasgupta had performed in award ceremonies like Colors Golden Petal Awards 2011 , Telly Academy Awards 2014 , which was held in Kolkata to felicitate the towering stalwarts of Bengal TV artists and artisans and for first time anchored for most popular Television Award in Bengal Star Jalsha Parivar Awards 2014 . His dynamism has helped him to win the "Emergi ng Star" award for playing cricket at the League of Stars 2014 . He has also bagged the “Agami Diner Star Award “at Star Jalsha Parivar Awards 2014.
Popularity
Dasgupta is a popular figure among the school kids and youth. As a testimony to that he was mobbed at a recent shoot in Chandannagar and he said in an interview with The Times of India “I feel blessed, happy, ecstatic...the list is endless” . He further adds “But I never knew I would get so much love right here in my hometown and that too, for my debut serial. It was crazy! We went there for an outdoor shoot and I was surprised to see thousands of people standing patiently for hours to get a glimpse”

Dasgupta is a movie-buff, and acting his life. He loves to travel and being passionate about photography, a keen photographer.He is a sports enthusiast especially adventure sports. He is a fitness freak, and has a liking for bodybuilding.

Dasgupta believes in animal rights and loves pets. He has two Rottweiler named Venice and Zurich. He is a supporter of woman empowerment and causes, is vocal about issues faced by women. He believes in philanthropy and keeps a low profile on his social commitments.
