Greetings! My name is Harry Mitchell, my username is HJ Mitchell and most people call me Harry or HJ for brevity (I really hate being addressed by my surname!). Anyway, you can call me MR. AWESOME!

Sooo... what do I do here? Well, I write articles (you can click the little icons in the top right to see some of those I'm proudest of), I do a little reviewing and copy-editing of other people's articles, and I help out in some of the behind-the-scenes areas. I'm an administrator, an OTRS agent, and a coordinator of the Military History Project. I like to think of myself as 'keeping the wheels turning' when I'm acting in those capacities—none of them grant me any sort of authority over other editors, and I hold those positions only for as long as the community trusts me to. Oh, and I do outreach work and organise/run events for Wikimedia UK, who pay my train fare so that I can go and teach (and hopefully inspire) people to edit. So, as you can see, I do many things (sometimes rotating from one to another as I get bored), but it's all good fun!

I've been here since March 2009. I started because I was enticed by the idea that I could edit, and I stick around because I want to help make the encyclopaedia, and the project, even better than it already is, and because Wikipedians are some of the most remarkable people I've ever come across. But during my tenure, I've been around the block a few times, so feel free to ask for help—if I can't help you, there's a good chance I'll know somebody who can.

For an outstanding voter guide to the 2013 ArbCom elections. Thoughtful and intelligent and entirely a pleasure to read, even if I didn't agree with this or that. Please do keep up the good work in this regard in the future, hopefully getting things up a couple days faster next time around so that your wisdom might more readily permeate the voter base... best regards, —Tim //// Carrite (talk) 04:07, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

I don't know whether Mike Jackson is your first FA on the front page, but well done on all the work you did to get this and other articles to FA and GA status. Hope to see many more to come! KTC (talk) 09:50, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your most polite demeanor and professional conduct at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Operation Flavius/archive1. I've since voiced my support for FA promotion at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Operation Flavius/archive1. I really appreciate the way you composed your replies to me, it was most kind and thoughtful. I apologize if I seemed a bit brusque, I've been under a bit of stress lately. Thanks again very much for your professionalism and kindness. — Cirt (talk) 18:38, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

You are probably the most active admin at RFPP, if I had a nickel for every time I saw an edit summary of yours saying protected for a fortnight, well I would have a lot of nickels. kelapstick(bainuu) 19:06, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

I saw you clear out a backlog at WP:AIV. Excellent work! It looks much cleaner already - but now your mop is a mess. Hmm.... see the mop on this barnstar here? It's a brand new one, and it has also been doused with a special chemical that makes performing admin tasks 10 times easier! Don't believe me? Just try it.
