Image appropriate?

I've nothing against Lord Ishido, but wouldn't a screen capture of Blackthorne or Toranaga (the Shogun of the title) be more appropriate? 23skidoo 16:53, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I posted this one because I had already taken it for use in another article... I will be adding Blackthorne and Toranaga after I get home from work.  ALKIVAR 01:08, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A lil' help needed

Started working up a plot outline. Not sure how to make the link for Orson Wells function without putting an underscore in the text. (Actually, I tried to put the narration credit in the infobox, which I added to the page, but for reasons unknown it didn't take.) Also, the series' alt-title is James Clavell's Shogun and I'm wondering if we could/should get a redirect for that. And does anyone know if the cover art to the DVD set could be used here as a illo? I could scan and upload it, but haven't had the time to read through the Wiki copyright documentation. Cryptonymius 17:51, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Filming Locations

I dont agree that Shogun was the only US tv series to be filmed outside the US - there are dozens of US TV series that are filmed in Canada, for example and Horatio Hornblower was filmed in the Ukraine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.40.38.38 (talk) 13:40, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ShogunPoster1980.jpg

Image:ShogunPoster1980.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Articles merged

Since no one objected, and there was no point having a separate article on the theatrical re-edit of the miniseries (and such an article if expanded would simply parrot what's already here anyway), I've gone ahead and merged the articles. 23skidoo (talk) 18:36, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

US miniseries?

Is it correct to call this a US miniseries? Surely it is US/Japan, if not Japan/US?101.98.188.150 (talk) 01:37, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
