Speedy deletion of What did you say?

A tag has been placed on What did you say?, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion of Marino Boys AFC

A tag has been placed on Marino Boys AFC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Mark Sheridan, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for experimenting with our encyclopedia. The test edit you made worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as I Alex Cross, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

Proposed deletion of Corydon and the Island of Monsters

The article Corydon and the Island of Monsters has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. LeilaniLad (talk) 21:26, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

actually, as the book is held in 500 libraries, as reviewing administrator I did not delete the article. But there needs to be more-- you must find published reviews of the book in newspapers or magazines--any public or school librarian can help you with this. , I advise you to do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. In general, please don't start articles until you have a reasonable amount of information and some references. For some further information, please see our guide to writing Wikipedia articles . November 2009

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Guinness World Records. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cited source says UK, not Ireland. Please see previous edit summary and discuss on Talk page if you disagree. Rodhullandemu 17:54, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Guinness World Records. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. It is unhelpful in the extreme to revert while consensus has not yet been reached. Please see WP:BRD, and take advantage of the opportunity to discuss while you still have that opportunity. I note you still haven't cited a source for this. Rodhullandemu 18:17, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page images

Sorry, but fair-use copyrighted images are not allowed on user pages, simply because our fair-use arguments only apply to use in articles. I'd advise you to remove them - the hourglass is OK and can stay, because it's a free image on Commons. Cheers. Rodhullandemu 23:05, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Talking on Wikipedia, and discussing your changes

Hello, Mark Sheridan. I am not sure if you talk on Wikipedia. Your recent edit history shows no communication of edit summaries or on talk pages; you should use edit summaries. Additionally, I suggest you talk more here and visit talk pages to check for already discussed matters. For example, you removed the American-British categorization from the lead (intro) of the Avatar (2009 film) article; I reverted you on that matter. The reason for its inclusion has already been discussed on the Avatar (2009 film) article talk page. Flyer22 (talk) 14:05, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

County Londonderry

Please do not alter references to County Londonderry to read County Derry as you recently did on Irish American. County Londonderry is the official name of the county, and there has never been a County Derry in the history of Ireland. Wikipedia consensus and agreement is to use the County Londonderry. See WP:IMOS. Canterbury Tail talk 18:12, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

December 2009

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive comments.
If you continue to make personal attacks on other people as you did at User:Canterbury_Tail, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. LikeTreasure (talk) 19:20, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

U2

Please stop editing the U2 article to say they are an "Irish rock band". We already have the statement in the same sentence that says they are "from Dublin, Ireland". Thus, your edits make the sentence redundant (e.g. "Irish band from Dublin, Ireland"). Furthermore, there was a consensus established a long time ago not to say that they are Irish. Two of the band members were not born in Ireland! It is more correct to say the band is from Dublin, Ireland. For future reference, I highly recommend you read an article's talk page or at the very least, consult edit summaries for why your edits have been reverted, instead of stubbornly adding your changes back in and not explaining why. January 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Thierry Henry, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Guinness is, in fact, a British company

Since 1932, in fact. You ought to do your research because you look, well, thick calling other people "stupidest" when they point this out. 86.44.41.15 (talk) 00:18, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Swift

Please stop editing the article on Jonathan Swift to say that he was Irish, not Anglo-Irish. Encyclopedia Britannica, a very reliable source, describes him as Anglo-Irish, which is why he is described as such in the article, so please stop changing it back to just Irish. If you really believe that he should be described as Irish, please provide a reliable source that describes him as such. Thank you. John of Lancaster (talk) 04:56, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have re-removed the userboxes in question. They are blatant violations of the no personal attacks policy, and persisting with such things will result in you being blocked. ~ mazca talk 12:04, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Upon learning that you have previously been warned off personal attacks against this user, I have blocked you. This block will last 48 hours and I strongly suggest you refrain from engaging in this kind of activity again. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 18:45, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
