Comment/question: Could BracketBot insert an extra newline before the heading of the message it adds to a user's talkpage, please?
Thank you for a useful aid.

Pls remove me from notifications
Since your links to fix broken refs don't do anything to fix them, pls remove me from your notification list or put me on a non-notification list until that's addressed. Thanks. — kwami (talk) 00:46, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- Kwamikagami: So you're OK with creating broken references like the one that you created and still have not fixed in Gweno language? If so, instructions for opting out are at User:BracketBot. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:55, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- The bot should fix the ref, or give me the tools to do so. And no, I don't want to opt out of BracketBot, because last time I got an error message, it was actually useful. — kwami (talk) 22:14, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- This bot can't fix the ref. There are bots that can fix some reference problems, and they have probably done so for you. This bot waits until 00:00 UTC each day to notify editors of problems, which gives other bots (and human editors) to fix problems and avoid over-notification. Fixing the remaining reference problems requires a human to determine what went wrong and how to fix it.

- The bot provides a link to an explanation of the type of error that you created. If you read that explanation, you may be able to fix the problem. If you can't fix it, you can optionally undo your edit, then post a request for help on the article's Talk page, or on Village Pump (technical), or on this page. Someone will help you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:00, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- Who owns the bot? It is the responsibility of the bot owner to make sure it runs responsibly. It seems, since I got a hit on my talk page for a MISPLACED BRACKET WHICH WAS NOT EVEN A BRACKET ON MY TALK PAGE that it is not running responsibly. IT IS THE REQUIREMENT OF THE BOT OWNER TO MAKE IT RUN RESPONSIBLY. NOT FOB IT OFF TO PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN SAYING 'THE BOT INSTRUCTIONS SAY'. IT IS THE REQUIREMENT OF ONE WHO RUNS A BOT TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. Sorry for shouting, I was hoping maybe CapsBot or ShoutBot would correct it for me. See my point? - This bot was approved through a formal process. If you think that this bot was approved in error, take that complaint to the appropriate forum. If you think that the bot is behaving in a way that is outside of its described behavior, post a specific complaint here. If you do not like this bot posting on your Talk page, follow the opt-out instructions. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
BracketBot – 24.85.113.197
Page: doom metal Diff: "I have automatically detected that your edit to Doom metal may have broken the syntax by modifying 3 "()"s."
Comment/question: "Sunn O)))" is the name of the band. The three right-parentheses are deliberate. It does not break syntax. See also: Sunn O))) 24.85.113.197 (talk) 21:24, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- That's indeed a false positive, though hardly one the bot can be blamed for. Huon (talk) 21:59, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Restart DefconBot
After WMF Labs coughed and died, many bots on Wikipedia have been affected, including DefconBot. Most of them have now recovered, but DefconBot still hasn't recovered yet. Could you take a look and restart the bot if necessary? Thanks. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 16:34, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

- The reference issue has been addressed. See WP:Referencing for beginners for more help, particularly the section about using the same reference more than once. Huon (talk) 21:59, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

I have removed duplicate content that seemed vandalism. There is one statement that I have not removed from overall content and potentially that leads to the referencing error. The statement is an inference from discussion on various social platforms and there's no direct reference by any news source.

- The citation you added used
|publishdate=
, which is not a valid parameter in citation templates. I fixed it for you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:23, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

- Not a false positive. AnomieBot rescued the reference that was deleted. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:26, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
