Dublin Airport destinations

You must provide references when adding new information. Any unsupported material can be removed. Please read this page Help:Referencing for beginners. Thanks, Vg31-irl (talk) 12:37, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I have got the hang of referencing now. RMS52 Talk to me 13:17, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ibiza Airport, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page European (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thomas Cook-Luton

Hi RMS52, I have good knowledge of Luton Airport having worked there for a number of years, I can confirm that they do not operate any flights from the airport, they buy seats on both Thomson and Monarch flights for their holiday packages.

Therefore deleting the entry you added in relation to Thomas Cook is acceptable.

Hope this resolves the issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RSJ1973 (talkcontribs) 12:33, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, when I looked at the TCX timetable. I was unaware that the flight was operated by Thomson and Monarch, I changed the edit to (operated by Thomson Airways and Monarch) because apparently thats where most of the flights are sold on. RMS52 Talk to me 17:47, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, have a good day — Preceding unsigned comment added by RSJ1973 (talkcontribs) 15:24, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

George Best Belfast City Airport

Hi, Gloucestershire Airport can be included as a destination in this case as although there is a stop at Isle of Man Airport, Gloucestershire/Belfast is still considered a 'direct' destination. On the Dublin Airport page WestJet destinations are listed as St. John's and Toronto although the flight stops at St. John's before continuing to Toronto. It was agreed to still include Toronto. The Citywing flights are similar to the WestJet flights. Thanks, Vg31-irl (talk) 11:29, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Vg31-irl. I checked WP:AIRPORTS and it clearly states

"Only list direct flights and non-stop flights only."

In this case, the flight has a stoppover at Isle of Man, and it is not a non stop flight, thanks. RMS52 Talk to me 11:32, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I interpret this to mean that it should not be included if you have to change aircraft to get to your destination. It says in Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports/page content Direct flights are not always non-stop flights. However, avoid listing direct flights that contain a stop at a domestic hub, as virtually all of these are simply flights from one "spoke city" to a hub, with the plane continuing from the hub to a second spoke city. Citywing brands it's flights as Belfast to Gloucestershire rather than Belfast to Isle of Man and Isle of Man to Gloucestershire. Similarly, WestJet brands its flights as Dublin to Toronto rather than Dublin to St. John's and St. John's to Toronto. A flight does not have to be non-stop to be included, but it has to be the same flight/aircraft. Vg31-irl (talk) 11:59, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but there is an aircraft change involved. A Citywing (Glasgow - Isle of Man) takes the passengers to Gloucestershire while the otther aircraft (Belfast - Isle of Man) goes somwhere else. I could provide a reference for this when the outbound flight departs. Although it might have changed since I had to aircraft chage when I went on the flight a couple of years ago. Discussion on Wiki Project Aviation Page

RE: 1955 McArthur Airport DC-6 Training Flight Crash: I am confused. You first asked me to come over to that page to explain my views, and then you suddenly reverted that and closed the page. Why the sudden switch, and I would also like to know upon what authority you closed the page from further comment? You are pretty new on Wikipedia and I don't see that you have made it to Administrator status yet. Has someone appointed you to close discussion pages in Project Aviation? Thanks, EditorASC (talk) 10:14, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Non-admin users can close disscussion if they are in someareas involved, but we are now replying at the talk page, that is why I closed it. You can close disscussions too! RMS52 Talk to me 10:58, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that information. I did not know anyone can close such a discussion. Not a good policy, IMHO. Too easy for some unethical types (not referencing you here) to shut down opposing views. I think it should be a power for Admins only. EditorASC (talk) 07:02, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Icelandair service to ORD: Resumes or Begins

I have started a discussion at WT:AIRPORTS and at Talk:O'Hare International Airport regarding this. A editor changed it to "begins" at the O'Hare International Airport. Let's discuss at the appropriate talk pages and wait for input from other editors. Thanks! 97.85.113.113 (talk) 08:11, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! This will solve any arguments that occur on the article, thanks. And I think that we can just forget about our errors in the past. RMS52 Talk to me 08:41, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I have reverted your edit on the Keflavik International Airport page for the time being until we can get input from other editors. The user continues to revert back to "begins" on the ORD page but I have left it alone until then. 97.85.113.113 (talk) 08:47, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, thats fair enough. RMS52 Talk to me 08:49, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ZRH and VRN

Please stop reverted my edits at ZRH and VRN, now I give a reliable sources for all of this edits! Thanks... Zurich00swiss (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 08:32, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done There is no need to tell me to 'stop' reverting your edits if there is a good reason why I reverted them, which was referencing. (On ZRH) And on VRN, one time only flights (example - Airline A begins route to destination B, ending on date C) are not to be included. And no shortcuts are allowed, thanks. RMS52 Talk to me 08:39, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

These flights are operated not only one time (CAGLIARI 12 times, CHISINAU 7 times). Zurich00swiss (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 09:48, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

One time only - They are only operated for a period of time, not continuiously. RMS52 Talk to me 11:58, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

After a research I found sources which say that Volotea flights from VRN to Chisinau and CAG will resume during summer schedule, Not only in that period. Zurich00swiss (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 12:47, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reference, but it does not state that. RMS52 Talk to me 18:18, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

you can not deny the evidence , the flight will be operated even in the summer season as the source says:"Cagliari (disponibile 3 giorni su 7, dal 18 dicembre all’11 gennaio per poi riprendere in primavera). Chisinau (operativa 2 giorni su 7 dal 18 dicembre al 10 gennaio e poi di nuovo da aprile)”. Zurich00swiss (talk) 07:07, 13 August 2015 (UTC) Zurich00swiss (talk)[reply]

But where does it say The flight will now be operated to a full year-round service? That's the key advice we are looking for here, I can still read it. RMS52 Talk to me 08:05, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You also delate 2 fights, Enfida with TUNIS AIR, and PORTO with TAP PORTUGAL. Also you change ATL from seasonal to annual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zurich00swiss (talkcontribs) 12:33, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Porto was added without a reference, Tunis Air Enfidha flights have not seen any operation and Atlanta I must have removed the 'Seasonal' tag by accident. RMS52 Talk to me 13:15, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Sorry, I was too bad! Zurich00swiss (talk) 14:29, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. RMS52 Talk to me 14:42, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

HolidayJet

Wikipedia doesn't need you "to verify the page". I've moved your article to Draft:HolidayJet while you're working on it. Bazj (talk) 19:00, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks! RMS52 Talk to me 19:01, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Blu-express

I noticed that you have deleted all the writings "operated by Blue Panorama Airlines" in airport tables. You wrote that the brand is the same but it's not correct. Blu-express is the brand for low-cost flights operated by Blue Panorama, which operates also flights with its brand. So many flights are sold as blu-express, but the crew and the airplanes are owned by blue panorama. It is like etihad regional flights, which are operated by Darwin Airline. Wjkxy (talk) 12:52, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, they are really the same brand, but they are recognized as seperate. For example...

Blu express operated by Blue Panorama Airlines - Vienna RMS52 Talk to me 15:54, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, also the IATA code is the same, but the service is really different Wjkxy (talk) 13:18, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And I didn't change all of them... RMS52 Talk to me 15:54, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Icelandair to ABZ

Hi,

You removed the "operated by Air Iceland" mention on Icelandair flight to Keflavik on Aberdeen Airport article, commenting "Icelandair services will be not operated by Air Iceland as Air Iceland is a regional carrier and would not have the approppiate aircraft".

I reverted this, please read the reference that was provided in the article: "The new Aberdeen-Reykjavik service will be operated on behalf of Icelandair by Air Iceland, a subsidiary of Icelandair Group. Aircraft used will be Bombardier Q400 seating 72 passengers"

Slasher-fun (talk) 08:14, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, but I also removed it because you did not provide a source. RMS52 Talk to me 11:54, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please look again: the source was already there. Slasher-fun (talk) 15:35, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It would have been helpful if you had stated... ...Says that flights will be operated by Air Iceland in the reference... . So it could be verified. RMS52 Talk to me 16:14, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First you said that you reverted because I did not provide a source. Then you say that you reverted because I did not write in the edit summary that my edit was supported by the source that was provided. I guess your only point is to be somehow right, so I'll stop this discussion here if you don't mind :) Slasher-fun (talk) 19:50, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, fine by me, thanks! RMS52 Talk to me 19:44, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit summary was untrue.

When you wrote- "Already checked and verified on WP:AIRPORTS and WT:AIRPORTS)". You made no posts to WP:Airports Project talk page about Belfast Airport's accidents and incidents section. I have had that talk page on my watch list for two years at least. Successful airport bombings are not considered aviation accidents and incidents per criteria for the accidents and incidents per this[1]. So the bomb paragraph was removed. I did put it in the airport history section. Even then, WP:NOTNEWS may apply....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 11:57, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I checked with an editor and I also found out that it is allowed, I did not clear it up now. But it was verified perviously. I better start a new disscussion anyways... RMS52 Talk to me 19:43, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

Hi RMS52. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 16:31, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My Edits

There is no point in re doing my edits, I only post accurate information and if you look at my history it was been very correct particularly in relation to Irish/UK airports.

As for Belfast-Verona I have schedule data from Aer Lingus and it begins on 18 December, will post who it's for as soon as I receive the info.

Jamie2k9 (talk) 11:57, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, if you are going to revert my edits again please include a reliable source or they will just get removed again, and do not use the rollback tool to revert good faith edits. RMS52 Talk to me 12:36, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lourdes Airport

About Lourdes Airport, I go to Lourdes, every May, from Beirut and the way back aboard Middle East Airlines. However, this is a charter flight, meaning proof is not available on the website of the airline. So I have no reference. But you can see on the Wiki page of Middle East Airlines that Lourdes is indeed one of their seasonal charter destinations. Nico karam (talk) 17:10, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but unless there is a reference on the Middle East Airlines page, your entry cannot be accepted because you cannot use other Wikipedia pages as references. RMS52 Talk to me 17:12, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My edits (blocked from editing)

Hello RMS52 i realize u have block me for my edits on Antalya Airport and apparantly Piarco International Airport agreed by Citydude1017. I will be cool this time because u may not know i'm from the Caribbean region and about Piarco International Airport haven't you read reference pages 11 and 12 and its also on the news Caribbean Airlines ending POS/LGW flights because its not profitable, also Antalya Airport is full of mistakes that i clean up e.g Corendon Airlines had flighs to Amsterdan normal and seasonal at the same time. i also notice you edited Grantley Adams International Airport with flight Air Canada seasonal to Halifax International Airport. can u please with your kindness since you claim I was wrong on other edits undo that because we don't have direct flights to Halifax period. thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 33aircharter (talkcontribs) 14:40, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aberdeen Airport NBE/OSL/AMS/FRA

Hi, I notice we've had handbags reverting each others edits on ABZ page regarding Thomas Cook Enfidha service, this is not ending as evidenced by flights being on sale. You then changed end date to 2016 but this is rubbish as no airline will confirm their schedules more than 15 months in advance.

Similarly SAS do indeed operate ABZ-OSL and have since March 2014. This summer they operate days ----5-7 rotations with Blue1 operating days 1234---. This arrangement will cease at start of W15 with the standard 12345-7 being re-adopted by SAS mainline. The last Blue1 B717 rotation should you wish to add it will be 22/10/15.

Have also changed KLM & Lufthansa entries to include mainline operations by both carriers as your edit resulted in inaccurate info and not in keeping with formatting on various other pages.

 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.230.103.100 (talk) 23:23, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So far, you have not provided any references for your claims, what if your information is false? The article nearly has no references at all so please provide a source, not argue. RMS52 Talk to me 05:27, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, with reference to KLM MAINLINE, Lufthansa MAINLINE & SAS MAINLINE which you kindly removed again citing vandalism (ha!), why would you need references for long established services (and how can you provide? Not likely to find an article mentioning the oh so rare fact that a KLM 737 Landed in Aberdeen today are you?):

1. KLM Mainline - Been operating mainline for well over 10 years - Why would a source be required for this?

2. Lufthansa Mainline - Been operating mainline for 3 years now - Why would a source be required for this?

3. SAS - Been operating ABZ-OSL as explained above since 03/14. - Why would a source be required for this?

By your logic, every single sentence on here would need a source. Ridiculous.

4. Now, I had a look through your "source" regarding Enfidha - note the inverted commas, and I can't see anywhere about an end date. Do you know why? Because there isn't one.

I would also, disagree that an airline timetable is a suitable source/reference. A press release or article stating the closure of the route would be more appropriate. You also seem to have been confused by my note about flights being loaded. ABZ-NBE is loaded into the schedule for Summer 16, No Summer 17 flights have been confirmed by any airline and would never be 2 years in advance. It is a summer seasonal route only.

It's pretty ironic that my edits are reverted by you citing vandalism, when you are the one entering information that is quite simply, put, wrong and inaccurate. I am from Aberdeen.

I hope you read this properly before just going ahead and once again reverting my edits as points 1-3 simply don't need referenced just because one person disagrees. If you you believe what i'm saying is false, why not go and have a look at the respective airlines websites to clear things up for yourself? And for Line 4 you have failed to provide a suitable source yourself to back up your claim.

I have provided a source for all of my claims, I have reported your actions to an admin who will take care of this. You do not also remove talk sections from articles as this counts as vandalism. RMS52 Talk to me 14:02, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aberdeen Airport Incidents and accidents section

Hi,

You've removed a significant proportion of the Incidents and accidents section from the Aberdeen Airport page, do you have any reason for doing so? These events that you have removed are all noteworthy to Aberdeen Airport. Many thanks, GreenAvGeek (talk) 21:28, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but these are not notable as there were no deaths, major aircraft damage or that the incident resulted in a change of procedures affecting the world, thanks. RMS52 Talk to me 21:40, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please unclose it

The DRN has been fixed but still lists it as closed. Please do not add bureaucratic red tape and help fix it. Thank you. Sandra opposed to terrorism (talk) 22:51, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just delete the archive bottom tag and the closed tag, then it should be fine. But I'll do it now. RMS52 Talk to me 06:31, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pincrete says DRN is the avenue of last resort. That is not what the instructions say.

"This is an early stop for most disputes on Wikipedia."..."Editors are expected to have had extensive discussion on a talk page (not just through edit summaries) to work out the issues before coming to DRN."

These instructions say that DRN is an early stop, not the last stop. There has been extensive discussion. Pincrete may have refused to participate but the other two people have not yet refused. The DRN should remain open for a little while longer, at least.

If the secret custom of DRN is to close and deny requests, then it should be clear. If that is the case, the instructions should read "DRN is a mere formality. We close most cases for the most flimsy reasons. DRN is only a propaganda tool so Wikipedia can claim it has a mechanism of discussion." I do not believe this is true. I assume that DRN is a genuine effort to resolve issues. Perhaps requests should not be so quick to be closed?

Thank you. Sandra opposed to terrorism (talk) 14:30, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It won't be closed yet, as far as I can see. RMS52 Talk to me 14:32, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ok... The aviation user. Zurich00swiss (talk) 09:29, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If he removes the end date for the Thomas Cook Airlines Enfidha route, please revert it as there is a clear ref that shows the route will be ending. RMS52 Talk to me 09:31, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bit harsh that, "unreal things". All edits I've made except the contentious Enfidha have eventually been accepted by you guys. I won't bother changing the Enfidha again as I can't possibly provide a reference to say the route will continue when Thomas Cook don't know themselves yet! Anyway, If I remember I'll ask your permission to remove the ending title on 01/11/16 when 2017 flights are available! P.s. Not a vandal, I'm not 13 years old anymore and have got much better things to do than vandalise wiki pages. Will maybe consder creating an account. Till then, ciao.

Narsarsuaq

Dear, you recently reverted the addition of a seasonal route to Narsarsuaq Airport, with a reference to WP:Airports. I fail to find any supporting text, there, though, and neither can I see why a seasonal route would not be worthy of note. I feel inclined to revert your reversal but am of course open to discussion, first. Kind regards, Jan olieslagers (talk) 16:03, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Zurich00swiss recently removed the dates for these routes, but didn't remove the actual route. Looking at the diff, it was a one time only route. (eg - Begins on a date, ends on a confirmed date later) Thanks for taking this on a calm apporach. RMS52 Talk to me 16:07, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

DRN

Small word of advice-- and I promise I'm not being condescending, or intend to come off as such; I do want to be of help. Please remember to be gentle with editors who come to DRN for help. I found your edit summary here, as well as your general demeanor, to be a little harsh towards someone who just wanted some help figuring out how to deal with speedy deletion tags. Even if they were in the wrong venue, just remember that the one thing that unifies people that come to DRN is just that they want some help, and we can provide it, even just by explaining where they need to go if they're not in the right place.

I'm not asking you to agree with my analysis, I just wanted you to be aware-- and I had some advice to give, since I imagine you want to help others as well. BLUSTER⌉⌊BLASTER 18:52, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
