Manual geomorphological modification implement listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Manual geomorphological modification implement. Since you had some involvement with the Manual geomorphological modification implement redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. International Sound Communication

ISC Tapes featured music from then unknowns Chumbawama, The Mock Turtles, Blyth Power and Napalm Death. Google them. ISC Tapes had nothing to do with me, but you've just deleted a valuable resource. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.26.204 (talk) 11:56, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, this slipped by my notifications. I've restored it as a contested PROD, but I've also sent it to the articles for deletion process [1] so it can be assessed on its merits. -- -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 21:53, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Election candidates

Please note that candidate categories, such as Category:Liberal Party of Canada candidates in the 2015 Canadian federal election are only for people who have not already served as Liberal MPs, and are thus not already contained in Category:Liberal Party of Canada MPs. They are not added to incumbent Liberal MPs who are running for immediate reelection, or to past Liberal MPs who are trying to come back out of retirement — they are only for people who have never previously sat as members of the Liberal caucus in the HoC. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 16:07, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I personally think that completeness and ease of access should override subcategorization clutter concerns during election periods, but it seems what you said is what has always been consensus so I won't complain. Maybe we can add a note at the top of these subcategories? ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 19:04, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bloc Québécois

I see you've been fighting a pretty persistent battle the past couple of weeks over the addition of an improperly-sourced "centre-right" to the infobox at Bloc Québécois — just wanted to let you know that I've placed an "autoconfirmed users" semi on the article for a couple of weeks to hopefully put a lid on it. Thanks, keep up the good work. Bearcat (talk) 01:14, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ashley Madison leaks

When the CBC picks up this story I will repost the link with a citation, and then your reversion will be vandalism which will be reported. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.116.14.46 (talk) 04:13, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Per our biographies of living people policy, due to libel concerns, when contentious stories like this emerge about public figures such as Canadian MPs, we cannot host the content on Wikipedia unless the story is also reported on by multiple, third-party reliable sources. If CBC and other sources pick it up, we can revisit the issue then. Until then, it simply cannot stay on Wikipedia. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:17, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: public speaking in biography articles

Thanks for feedback, I agree with your assessment non-neutral language - I will adjust that. I have to disagree with your assessment on the need to mention who they are represented by. Take professional athletes are treated to having their representation sourced - see the profile for Kevin Durant. Those are also treated with a source. The representation for an individual is an important aspect of public knowledge should not be treated differently based on a profession (i.e. Athlete vs. Academic). So please adjust your edit accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bennyhbk (talkcontribs) 18:42, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think the representation in terms of athletes and public speakers is fundamentally different, especially since most of the pubic speaker articles you've edited are primarily known for something other than public speaking (e.g. Mr. Rae is a politician, Mr. Coates is a historian, Mr. Mitic is another politician, etc.). On the other hand, athletes are primarily known for their athletics, their deals in which are represented by their agents. It's comparing apples and oranges, and I think explicitly mentioning the agency in the article text would be push it over the border of what is and isn't promotional. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 18:50, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your term "I Think" followed by a judgement call is extremely troublesome when it comes to editing. You are meant to follow a rule applied to all - not pick and choose my friend. They are not different - both generate income in one key aspect (e.g. politician, sports player) followed by a supplemental income (endorsements, player appearances, public speaking).
