Plot
After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their rat sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters is amassing an army of ancient monsters, apparently to take over the world.
According to director Kevin Munroe's panel at San Diego Comic-Con: Leonardo has been traveling the world for the last year, honing his skills. While away, the other turtles are barred from leaving the lair by their Master Splinter, who wishes to keep the family together. However, Raphael has been scouring the streets at night, taking a page from his pal Casey Jones' book and mixing it up.
Meanwhile, it seems Michelangelo has taken a job as an entertainer at children's parties. A scene shown at comic-con has Mikey in a fake turtle costume, being attacked by the partygoing children, who give him a kick to the groin.[1]
The final shot shown at Comic-Con was a grey-scale Leonardo and Raphael facing each other. As their weapons clash, the scene faded to black.
According to interviews at Comic Con, this film will follow the 2nd movie, but there will be nods to the animated series and previous films (including 3). It will be a "rebirth" film.
Also, Casey Jones and April O'Neil will return, with this film building on their romance in the first film.
It has been confirmed that The Shredder will not appear in the movie but Karai will be included.[2]
Cast
Although IMDb currently has Quinton Flynn listed as the voice for Casey Jones, only one official casting announcement has been made. Kevin Munroe, director of TMNT, announced Japanese-American actor Mako was the voice of Splinter, on July 20, 2006 at San Diego Comic-Con. Mako died the next day, at the age of 72. Munroe also assured that Corey Feldman would not be returning as the voice of Donatello. The full cast is expected to be announced by September.
Trivia
In the trailer, it features the turtles in the dark, jumping off rooftops. This is a reference to a similar scene in the opening for the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song.
