To recreate deleted pages

Hi Rick, I realised you deleted pages named Jeremiah Obuobi, Kulaperry and Rex Omar which a friend created and I wanted to help edit. Only realised it has been deleted after I joined wiki today. Perhaps he violated some rules here on wiki. But kindly grant me the permission to work on new ones with same content as I had the notification that I should contact you before creating new pages with same content. Thanks for your time — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kwekuansah (talkcontribs) 12:18, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

GrowthFountain speedy deleting

Hi Rick, I dispute your deleting of the page I created for GrowthFountain. I don't understand how it differs from those of similar companies, e.g. SeedInvest or WeFunder. Please be so kind as to explain. --Ordenary (talk) 21:32, 22 March 2017 (UTC)Ordenary[reply]

The page read as a promotional piece, and did not have proper sourcing, which were the main reasons for deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:06, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

IAAP Page

Sorry to see you go. The article had zero independent reliable sources, which is required for any article. Threatening to not donate again doesn't help I will add. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:55, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, I wasn't happy with your unilateral decision to delete the page. You didn't state your rationale for wanted to delete the page was for lacking independent reliable sources; you stated that the article was of insignificant value. I would be happy to provide independent reliable sources if that is what you require to undelete the page. Thank you. Louis Reed (talk) 14:46, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the apology, and my apologies for being so blunt. I'm going to restore the page in your sandbox here: User:Louis Reed/sandbox. Feel free to work on it there, and once it's finalized let me know and I can help you move it if you wish, or you can send it through the articles for creation process. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:50, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mr. RickInBaltimore, Could you please take a look at the updates to the sandbox article and let me know if it meets the criteria of independent reliable sources? Many thanks. Louis Reed (talk) 19:39, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's been a few days so I hope you don't mind, but I republished the IAAP page. I cited references from Business Wire, Cryptosoft, and Barclays. Louis Reed (talk) 14:26, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That looks fine to me, thanks for the cleanup and good luck with your editing! RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:21, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for all of your assistance! Again, my apologies and I hope that there are no hard feelings. Louis Reed (talk) 19:31, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ActiveEon draft speedy deleting

Hi Rick,

last week you deleted a draft I was writing about ActiveEon for beeing too promotional. As it was the first article I ever wrote on wikipedia, I might not have been respectful of the guidelines, but it was a draft and I planned to reread it and edit it before publishing it. Can you explain why you deleted it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by PAUL BAQUÉ (talkcontribs) 14:19, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article, while in draft form, still was ad copy in the form it was it. Also, the only links were to the copy site and to no other sources. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:20, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rick, as mentioned this was the first article I ever wrote and I was planning to edit it heavily in order to be more respectful of the guidelines, especially regarding sources. If I publish it again in a new, edited, non-ad form, I would be glad to hear from you so that I'm sure it respects Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you very much! Paul Baque (talk) 08:32, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can I suggest you start it in a Draft first? That's the best area to work on a page, to get all your sourcing and all ready before you publish. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:17, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please don't just delete or simply remove speedy deletion tags and follow the procedure. As far as I can see you didn't created talk page and didn't contested my nomination to delete the page Viktoria Azovskaja, I think that page is a nonsense: no content, she won in 2007, no sign of significance. Please pay more attention to your edits. Thanks Jone Rohne Nester (talk) 16:55, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, the article can be cleaned up, however there is a claim of notability, which is why I removed the tag as it doesn't meet CSD guidelines. If you feel needs to be deleted, feel free to nominate the page for deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 16:59, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've also tagged the page with a BLP Prod tag, as there is no sourcing on the page at all. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:07, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@RickinBaltimore: Thanks for your reply, sorry if my previous comment sounded rude, but I was just surprised why deletion tag was just removed without contest. Well noted, I nominated page for deletion, so now others can join the discussion. Not sure how significant that "award" Miss Universe Estonia is. I found this article Miss Universe 2007 and the winner of Miss Universe 2007 is Riyo Mori , Thanks Jone Rohne Nester (talk) 17:35, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, and there was a "contest" I left it in the edit summary. I saw the AfD, and I will comment there on the article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:36, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

AG Markets

Hey @RickinBaltimore: I saw you wrote back to me but I wasn't able to find the part where we talk about the AG Markets article. Anyways, what I wanted to tell you is that this broker/company has lots of clients I think people is interested on this, is not promotion you know? Also I can get reliable independent sources. So, bearing that in mind, can you tell me please how to make this a GOOD article? And not a deletable one?

Thanks in advance Ksekoliara

You'll have to ensure this is written from a neutral viewpoint, and that you do have independent reliable sources to show how the company is notable. I'm not against the recreation of the article at all, just make sure it's within the guidelines of the standards of a Wikipedia article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:08, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Worldline Page?

Hi @RickinBaltimore,

I noticed that the Worldline page was removed for being "advertising"

This was my first page, so apologies if I did something wrong. I was attempting to correct some inaccuracies on Wikipedia with references to Atos and Worldline.

I've been trying to correct inaccuracies that link to Atos, when in fact they should be linking to Worldline as they are a different company. I haven't been able to do this as a Worldline page does not exist, hence its creation.

Could you explain what it is I need to do differently please to ensure the page is not deleted?

Thanks GhWL (talk) 11:27, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article text was removed as it was a direct copyright violation from [1]. That was the main issue, this is not allowed per Wikipedia's rules. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:12, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@RickinBaltimore Ah apologies. Are you able to revert the changes, and I will remove the copyrighted content and source, and provide original content please?

GhWL (talk) 14:18, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Might I suggest creating a new article such as Worldline (company)? The reason being is that this is a currently good redirect to World line. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:26, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. Is it possible to get the source of the original page so I can resubmit?

GhWL (talk) 14:32, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The issue with that is that I would be giving you a direct copyright violation, as it was an almost identical match to the link above. Unfortunately I can't provide you with that. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:36, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OK, not to worry. I will remake the page under "Worldline (Company). Thanks for your help GhWL (talk) 14:46, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

question

I saw that you deleted a page that I tried to make, and after reading the rule, I completely agree with the reason why. However, I wanted to create a page/series of pages with links to articles of all combinations of 4 English letters. Seeing as this already exists for combinations of 3 letters, how could I go about doing that without breaking the rules? fsxNet

Hi Rick. I'm really disappointed that you removed the page. I've been trying to follow correct process and wonder if you reviewed the talk logs, changes I had made, the fact the page had already survived a proposed deletion etc? I had responded to the second editor Oluwa2Chainz that proposed the speedy deletion on his/her talk page and was awaiting a reply that has yet to happen. I also note that Jimfbleak had acted prior to you but noted the survival of AFD and restored the page. I seek you help and the other guy I wrote too so that I can publish something about this network that meets the required standards. It honestly feels hard to get something across the line when what ever you put up is tagged for removal and removed so quickly. That's despite doing my best to meet the shifting sands of feedback posted in the form of removal notices. Any help / feedback appreciated. Please if you have not done (or can still do) review my replies and rational posted to the now deleted page's talk page and to Oluwa2Chainz I really don't want to have to repeat it all again. Best, Paul151 (talk) 03:36, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Paul151, thanks for ping. I believe that the article is promotional in tone, although, looking at your editing history, you don't appear to have a COI. I restored because I've had my knuckles rapped recently for deleting another article that survived AfD. Rick, I don't know if this helps you at all. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:32, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Actually this article was never put up for AfD. I searched the archives, and there wasn't an AfD. There was a Prod, but not an AfD. The article was indeed promotional in nature, and the sources in the article linked back to the main site for the software, not independent sources. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:26, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks guys for the replies and info it's genuinely appreciated. I am new to authoring and want to create something that is acceptable. Sorry some of the Wikipedia references (COI, Prod) I'm not familiar with. The original chap Oluwa2Chainz that proposed the speedy deletion so far seems to have not replied to what I had posted on the 'talk' page for the article but I guess now the page is gone the records of that response have also been lost? Rick, I did try to add a number of citations after the first proposal for deletion by Oluwa2Chainz and had aimed for websites beyond bbs.geek.nz that referenced fsxNet in the discussions. Some of those citations were instances of where the network was being discussed by developers in the content of contemporary development of BBS software and Fido Technical Networks discussions. Are those kinds of citations not enough? Would I need an article written by another source to validate things and jump the required hurdle? Where I am unsure also is trying to find the correct tone of being factual about stuff but not seemingly sound promotional. How can I / we work together to create an acceptable alternative article? With thanks Paul151 (talk) 01:26, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Turkish Work Permit

Hi RickinBaltimore, you deleted the Turkish Work Permit page on the 22 March 2017. You stated it was due to Copyright infringmement. I don't understand why ? could you explain please. Thank You. Also i check on my message page just now, and i think you might have deleted it because of plagiarism. However i didn't plagiarised or copy any sentence of the website. I totally wrote it in my own word. I really don't understand. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muratcuka (talkcontribs) 07:33, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There's a tool that anyone can use to determine how much of an article is copied from another source, and that is this here: [2]. This tool showed that a large amount of the article was taken from this page: [3], so much so in fact that it would be considered a copyright infringement on the site. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:29, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You very much, however i still say that it is not a copy. I wrote it all by myself. I will have to rewrite it all again. It is not fair. Sometime you cannot use other word to explain thing. Wikipedia must be a free and understanable platform for information. I really thing that this page must be retaken. Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muratcuka (talkcontribs) 12:45, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Johnnaber

Hey, just giving you a head's up. I deleted the userpage for Johnnaber and blocked the other accounts editing on his talk page.

Long story short, the page is getting used by someone in a private prison/mental health boarding school to talk to his friends. (I'm unsure as to the exact nature of the facility, but it does seem to be mental health related per his comments and info on the Internet about the place.) None of it is especially bad except that he's very obviously not supposed to be communicating with people on the outside, as his deleted talk and userpage edits showed that his communications were very restricted. It's the type of thing that could honestly get him a longer stay there.

I feel a bit awful about blocking him and I've asked for him to have the same done to him on Wikimedia Commons, but if he's in that type of place him going around the rules will only get him in serious trouble in a place like that. I'm more just letting you know since I know that you were involved in his talk page stuff last month and so you can keep an eye on things. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:21, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have to show how the company meets WP:CORP using what are known as independent reliable sources. Not every company is notable, even if they exist. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:54, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Meaningful Broadband Model

Meaningful Broadband Model (talk) 21:03, 24 March 2017 (UTC)Dear RickinBaltimore (or another reviewer) of the Meaningful Broadband Model post. In our last feedback from you on behalf of Wikipedia, you said that you would be willing to unblock "meaningful broadband" if the name is changed. So we changed it to Meaningful Broadband Model. But that also was blocked, without an explanation. Please unblock the site or explain why it is now being blocked. I believe we have met your concerns by demonstrating that: Meaningful Broadband is not a self-promoting business but an academically led trend that has that has academic and political traction in Asian nations and intergovernmental organizations, such as World Bank. We have changed the name of the entry, from Meaningfujl Broadband to Meaningful Broadband Model to clarify that this is not a label foir a business but for a framework for test-market deployment that addresses ethical concerns of great interest to the Wikipedia readership. The entry includes references from third parties and publishers who are commenting on Meaningful Broadband and its implications, particularly among Islamic nations, as Indonesia is the primary country of deployment.[reply]

(talk page watcher) I don't know why there was no block message left at User talk:Meaningful Broadband, but there was definitely an explanation left at User talk:Meaningful Broadband (MB). All three of your accounts violate the Username policy because accounts cannot represent an organization, and accounts must not be shared (I believe we have met your concerns, We have changed the name). First, do not create another account. You, the person using the accounts, have been blocked from editing, and the two newer accounts are considered to be evading the first block. Can you have a look at the former page to see if your concerns with the latter are addressed? If it is a copyvio, it should be either rev deled or G12ed, if it is good, it should be capitalized correctly, and I don't see the need for a full RM when it could just be a technical move if the issues were addressed. Deletion of Draft:Agile CRM

Hi Rickin,

It would be extremely helpful if you could help me understand which portions of the article you found were promotional and if you could help me understand how could I edit them to be able to create the page.

Runa1123 (talk) 03:56, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, the entire article read more as an advertisement, or a promotion of the software and company, and not an encyclopediac article. There also was not enough reliable 3rd party sourcing within the article itself. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:28, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rickin,

Thanks a lot for responding back. However, I had researched enough and seen many such similar websites to get guidance on language and content before I get going on my own. You could refer to the Hubspot Infusionsoft Insightly pages for reference to see what I am talking about.

In any which case, I know its asking too much but would you be able to help me edit the article to make it more Wiki ready. I have gone through the articles and frankly they seem good on paper but hard to implement. Would really appreciate your help. Is there any other way I could connect with you?

Runa1123 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:03, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I'd be glad to look at it for you and give some recommendations for you. From what I'm seeing in the article right now, the first paragraph alone is more ad copy or promotion than information. This sentence here for example: "Agile CRM offers a one stop solution for all Customer Relationship Management needs for small and medium enterprises with an employee size between 1 to 500." is informational yes, but also reads as promotional. I'm going to look over the text more and see where it can be tweaked to be more neutral. Another thing I'd recommend is to NOT use PRWeb as a source. That's a site that's used by companies for their PR news, and is not a credible reliable source. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:38, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rickin,

I cannot tell you how glad you make me by agreeing to work on helping me improve my wiki contribution. Just wanted to give you the article on whole if you require it over email or word doc. if you prefer. Would look forward to your help and guidance. Deleted Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club - Australia

Hi Rick,

You deleted my page and I'm determined to get up up there. The cited reason was "does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject".

We are an Australian national motorcycle club and currently have a display in the Australian Motor Museum after invitation from the museum. Our national rallies in 2015 and 2016 were held at the Museum of Australia in Canberra. We are a part of the vehicle registration process in several states. I don't see a problem with the text I wrote. I'm happy to add citations but not sure how many I need (eg, do I put a link to every motor registration website?). Yes we are a small club (1,300 members) in a small country but I think significant and growing. Please help.

Alan PS. We don't ride Harleys. Does that matter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrAlanStevens (talkcontribs) 21:53, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't matter to me what you ride, what does matter is that there was absolutely no sourcing in the article to show why your group was notable. The only link provided was to your club, and that's not a independent reliable source. If you have these sources, and can show how your club meets WP:GNG, feel free to re-add it. I will also warn you as well that you have an admitted conflict of interest, and suggest you read that article first I just linked to before you recreate the article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:12, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dolly Roll

You deleted this sourced and referenced articled because some screwball was missing something, even a nationally known band is not enough for him, which sold approx. a million records and had some 20 albums published. You clearly didn't read neither the article, nor the sources. Please, restore. Gyurika (talk) 05:24, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing in the article showed how they met WP:NMUSIC. Did they chart in Hungary? Were they signed to a major label? The links provided in your references didn't show this. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:10, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes and yes, they did show this. They completely sold approx 4 million LPs, in 1984 they toured the country. I didn't write copy numbers of all of their LPs. They recorded under the national label Favorit, had numerous videoclips, many original hits and cover versions, etc. There are quite some silly rubber-rules you have here. What's the point in deleting a verifiable, notable band with two interwikis in speedy, while only proposing the Mendez Family with doubtful notability for deletion? My later contributions to the article were completely ignored. A local small god puts on a template, and you can't remove it after adding sources and information? • After an unsuccessful proposal to automatically grant IP block exemption, consensus was found to relax the criteria for granting the user right from needing it to wanting it.

Technical news

  • After a recent RfC, moved pages will soon be featured in a queue similar to Special:NewPagesFeed and require patrolling. Moves by administrators, page movers, and autopatrolled editors will be automatically marked as patrolled.
  • Cookie blocks have been deployed. This extends the current autoblock system by setting a cookie for each block, which will then autoblock the user if they switch accounts, even under a new IP.

Deletion of Eliezer (Eduardo) Zeiger

Hi, I'm not sure why this page was deleted. Although I copied some of the information directly from the Torah Science Foundation's website, it was well referenced and it was not the sole source for the article, nor was it a copy of the entire page. I would be grateful if you could explain the criteria for using information from another website to uphold facts included on a Wikipedia page, so that I don't make the same mistakes again. Thanks. 238-Gdn (talk) 13:48, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

While using information from another site is always good, and excellent for sourcing, the problem was the page was too much of a copy from the Torah Science site, in fact there was enough that they copyvio tool [[12]] brought up enough red flags to show copyright violations. If you can re-write the article, I'd recommend using the tool to check how much of the page is seen as a copyvio. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:51, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Fantoria

Hello, I noticed that you deleted the Fantoria page ( I was also suspected of sock puppetry—just found out what that means, kind of dig the name yet hate that I was accused). I contacted a friend who knows the company and founder who then tried to make better edits. I can see how it may be seen as such (sock p) due to our back and forth on editing, but it was not. We're just apparently bad newbies. The creation was not for promotional purposes etc but rather a starting point database for Fantoria, collecting information about it from many sources as a California based publishing company. The name is for both the company and the imaginative world with the same name. It's quite an interesting company and concept that I felt warranted a Wikipedia page that would grow as the company grew. Please have a reconsideration. Please accept my apologies if it came across malicious or if I did anything violating (I was unaware). But I do thing the page has a legit reason for being on Wikipedia. Maybe you could help with making it more legit, if I'm missing something? It was made in total support. Thanks Creativecat2016 (talk) 18:50, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing malicious from you that I can see, however that wasn't the reason for deletion. The biggest issue is that the company needs to meet WP:NCORP, which is the guidelines any company needs to meet notability standards on Wikipedia. Also, there didn't appear to be any independent reliable sources to indicate why the company was notable. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:59, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ahhhhh. Thanks for that. Is there a way you can bring back the text from it? As I go through the links you gave, I would still like to use the text and follow the guidelines to do it right—if it's doable at all. Thank you so much. Creativecat2016 (talk) 19:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I can send you the text and put it on your sandbox here. RickinBaltimore (talk) 19:34, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead and use your sandbox to work on the page and create the article, making sure you can meet the guidelines I listed above. RickinBaltimore (talk) 19:35, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect. Thanks. Screw ups are great professors. smh. Creativecat2016 (talk) 19:41, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

BTW, that hoax draft you just deleted was for a real person with a criminal record for identity theft. Ironic much? ATS 🖖 talk 19:56, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Femi D live page deletion

Mr. Baltimore I have read the copyright issues and it is vague in this case. Yes, I wrote as closely as possible to the original text in order to REFERENCE it) I do not understand why this is a problem? We in Africa have a referencing problem making it difficult to put up important information on wikipedia. I have seen similar pages with similar quotes. Excuse me but what is the international limit for plagiarism? how may words does the entire article even contain?) so what is next? will you put back up? I think you are trying to Censor without regard. Please do something about this. I will rewrite the üage if I have to in a more "Journalistic" manner. You guys surprise me sometimes. 14:00, 5 April 2017 (UTC)DaSkeptik (talk)

I'm not censoring you at all. The problem was there was too much of the article that was taken word for word from the source itself. This is considered a copyright violation, and is not allowed here. You're more than welcome to re-publish the page, but please use the sources to write the article in your own words. Summarize what the article says, but don't paste a word for word copy. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:06, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Thanks for your "speedy" :-) response! point is noted. I will change the journalistic approach.14:17, 5 April 2017 (UTC)DaSkeptik (talk)
